Spectacular views, and probably the harder side of moderate. It was hotter than the weather forecast stated, and there’s a lot of areas where you’re in the open sunlight. There are challenging areas where you may need to hug the rock and scramble up. Very rocky in those sections, so avoid if it’s rainy. Including water breaks and time to eat and gaze, it took our group ~4.5 hours. Parking was nearly full by the time we arrived around 9:30 AM, but mostly empty by the time we left around 2:30 PM. There are two outhouses but I cannot understate how badly they smell.

Trail isn’t marked super clearly in some places so you need to be very careful but otherwise a very fun hike!

Great hike to both summits. It was a little challenging, which made it fun. Trailhead parking was a bit tight, but we didn’t run into a lot of people on the loop. We made sure to bring micro-spikes with some snow still on the ground.
Parking: If you have a National Parks pass, parking will be free.
Fees: $5 for parking
Restrooms: 2 restrooms in the parking lot

Great trail! Definitely go around the loop counter-clockwise if the trail is wet, and having good shoes for climbing the rocks is helpful.

Welch Dickey is a loop with several great views along the trail. It’s not extremely difficult or long, and it is a great trail for viewing the fall foliage. When it’s busy, either come early in the morning or wait until early afternoon. I came mid-October on a Saturday around 1 pm: the lot was full (except for one space that I snagged), and there were cars lined up for about a mile down the road. Parking is $5 cash or card.
Parking: There are around 20-30 spaces in the lot, and overflow down the road leading up to the lot for many more vehicles.Restrooms: There is a small building with two restrooms at the parking lot.
