“I read the reviews and was expecting the worst but it wasn't bad. It seems to be a family owned shop trying their best and that's what matters. I wasn't impressed by the rodent care but it wasn't horrible. They have multiple amazing well established planted tanks. I'm not sure why they have so many critical reviews that claim it smells terrible. I have been in plenty of pet stores that smell a million times worse. Overall a good store. Definitely stop by if you have a chance.”
“They're knowledgeable, helpful in finding not only the best food for your dog, but the most economical way to go about it. My bulldog eats NOTHING! But now he's eating healthy twice a day in a way I can afford, and it's such a relief. So grateful they're right in town.”
“On advice of other birders, we headed down here to finally buy a scope. Barrett was there, and he ran us through our options, what we thought would be best for the two of us, prices, trying out some models etc. We settled on one pretty quickly, and in no time we had the scope, tripod, and were out the door to go use it immediately.Barrett was very knowledgeable and explained things very well, but had none of the smugness or superiority that sometimes come with being an expert in a hobby. It was a great experience start to finish. When it comes time to upgrade our bins, I know where we'll be going. Highly recommend this place.”
“Fabulous pet supply store, awesome selection of natural products, cool treat bar and human grade baked dog cookies. My dogs were psyched about their bones and new toy.”

“I rescued my dog back in 2012 and she had a hip injury that showed she may have needed surgery. I put her on ultimate and she is now 8 years old and has not had surgery. She runs and nothing seems to bother her. I am sold on this product.”
“They did a great job with my new boy Henri (Hendrick Hans). I figured they did great with my dog so they’d do fine with him too! I Am Kidding The dog looks great”
“Hi - I’m considering purchasing a GSD from Hayes Haus after hearing great recommendations first hand and online. Has anyone used the QuickStart Program? Looking for an unbiased opinion whether it’s worth the money!”
“Great staff that truly care about the work they are doing. Most people are only aware of the adoption services but they offer many other stuff such as low cost spay & neuter, humane education programs for kids, training classes, and much more! Cannot say enough great stuff about this organization.”

2454 Lafayette Rd, Portsmouth“Honestly I stopped in because my sister and I needed to use a rest room. After we used the very clean facilities I found a nice treat for my dog and we perused the available pets. The staff was helpful, funny, and not only answered our questions happily but went above and beyond making sure we not only had a great time while we were there but that we could continue our fun after we left. 10/5 stars for customer service!”
