Never had a Worse experience with the rental car company. Somebody else hit my car and their insurance company insisted I use them and obviously the insurance company was supposed to pay for everything but Hertz charged the credit card that they require a deposit For. They randomly charged my card, many charges without any invoices or exclamation and one charge was $400 for washing it Obviously, the insurance car of the person that hit my car is responsible. Why am I required to pay anything? They couldn’t answer a single question when I contacted them about the charges reported them as fraudulent.

Getting the rental was a breeze, customer service was excellent! they had the vehicle I desired (it hit everything but the lottery but it was 7 passengers)and I thought the return would be the same experience..... BEWARE!! I WAS WRONG! A walk around was performed the day I dropped it off with nothing of concern, well 6 days later I got a call to come down and sign paperwork for exterior damages on the vehicle! I already signed the paperwork when i dropped it off( Nice Try!) Funny part is I still don't have my original deposit returned to my account! I would advise people to try another place. My account gets charged again, there will be problems.....

I just wanted to take a moment to thank Tom and his team at the office for making our recent rental smooth. They did a great job, were attentive to our needs, and got us out the door quickly. I highly recommend this Hertz location with Tom at the helm.

Tom and his assistant in training were outstanding Friday 7/14/23. Getting us a quick rental, in a much larger size vehicle was just what we needed. We had a bad experience with the Hertz, Manchester, NH branch the previous day, and Tom made it all better.

Tom, new manager, was incredibly professional and accommodating. He was there alone late in the day, and even though they closed at 5, patiently took care of the two people in front of me and then myself. They had plenty of vehicles, the car they rented me was clean, and Tom's demeanor through the entire process was polite and patient. Again, at drop off, very polite and the office was clean. It was an entirely different experience than when I attempted to rent a vehicle from the Hertz in Haverhill, where I was met with rudeness and told the vehicle I had reserved was unavailable. BUT - they would rent me a mini-van, at an up-charge of $20 per day. As a business owner, I apprecIAte the value of customer service - whether it be excellent (Salem) or very poor (Haverhill). It was well worth the extra 10 minute drive for me, and tom has earned my future business!

I had to rent a car because mine was in the shop. The price was a significantly lower than enterprise and other rental company’s in the area. When they didn’t have the full size available because it was not returned (everyone is short on vehicles to rent), they were quick to upgrade me. Shavon and Jen both had their customer service game top notch. They were friendly and quick to get back to me when I had questions and extending my rental was also not a problem. I do have to rent cars every so often and I would definitely recommend Jen and Shavon and Hertz on 28 in Salem, NH.Paula

I made my reservation well in advance (2 months) and was given a car that no human should be in. They only had 3 options when I arrived and they were all bad. One had no registration, according to the lady and the other 3 were horrible. Cigarettes smell pet hair, and disgusting stains were all over the cars. I ended up taking it because I really needed a ride to the airport. I use bed sheets on the seats and air freshener to be able to sit somewhat comfortably. I would never again rent a car from this location. Hertz won't let you use a debit card either.
