I always feel like nobody works here when I come in. The only time I ever see someone is when you check out.Store is a little frazzled. There can be good items, it's just hit or miss. Some sections have ALOT of the same stuff and are just overloaded with items and you have to just keep walking because too much is going on. Then some sections have very little and look odd.

Online ordering was subpar at best. Customer “support” was generic and completely unhelpful. Might as well have been dealing with AI. Probably was; considering the level of “support” actually received. I get that I am dealing with “five below” but would have expected more from the dollar store all things considered.

Not trying to be rude but the lady who was working up front didn’t let me use the self checkout on my own. She scanned all of my items for me all while standing very close to me and after that, proceeded to select my receipt option for me without asking what I preferred and then rated the experience a 9 ?♀️ All without saying a word to me not a hello and not a goodbye. It frustrates me a bit because the whole point of self checkout is to do it myself, for gods sake at least don’t stare while I put my pin in..

The service was very nice the employees were very very nice and polite and it's just a fun store to shop in for all those little knick-knacks you need and I will be shopping there again as I do many times

Used to love going to this location up until recently. I come to this Five Below every 2 weeks or so to browse the new items and occasionally buy a blind bag / decorations for the house etc. I used to be able to come in, grab my things, check out with ease at the self checkout and leave. However, starting a few weeks ago, they closed all the self check out kiosks... I'm not social at all and if I can avoid talking to people, I will, so self check out is my go-to. Luckily one was open today so I checked out at that kiosk. As I was checking out, I noticed the guy working the front was hovering over me, watching my every move. He then jumped in to scan items and press the buttons on the screen for me... and tried to make small talk by saying "You come here a lot, huh?" First of all: Back up. Give me some space. Second: Thanks for that comment... felt great (sarcasm). More importantly: what's the point of having a self check out open if you can't let customers do it themselves? Not blaming the kid at the front. He was clearly doing what he was told by his manager, who I assume is the problem here. This isn't the first time this has happened either, and this only happens at the Salem, NH location. Guess I'll be finding a new one to go to.

I typically go into stores for my shopping needs however, today I was a bit rushed so I placed an order online for pick up. Two hours after my order was placed I arrived for my order. The lady at the counter had no idea I had even placed an order. She, not so happily, went to shop my order as I stood there waiting. She returned with my bag, handed it to me, and I left. When I got to my car I looked at the order and three items were missing. I, not so happily, returned to the store questioning the missing items and was told, "oh yeah, we don't have those". I asked if they would be shipped to me and her response was, "no, they were taken off the order". I left pretty unhappy considering I 1. Could have shopped them myself, quicker, and 2. Don't you think it's pertainent information to inform me my full order wasn't available? She was a miserable woman that clearly hates her job. A very unpleasant experience for me and because of this I will not be returning to this location.

Fun place to shop. Lots of things to look at, many options for gift-giving. Prices seem reasonable. Weirdly there are no cashiers and although there is an employee on looking you have to check out yourself.

My first ever visit. Lots of little things to poke through. Large candy selection. Was there at back to school time so lots of items to get ready. Some art supplies and s few cloths. Was a good place to visit and look for a bargain.

Nice concept for a variety store, this location typically only has one person or two on staff. They seem friendly enough but there's a bit of chaos as items seem to get restocked and remerchandised very sporadically. It's worth a visit as you never know what you'll find and what deals are available. Great place to find silly gifts, a good variety of candy, and tech gadgets and accessories.
