“Such an enjoyable and colorful shopping experience with a great/thoughtful selection of super cute stuff. I am drawn to the cards but found so much more. Really great to have tons of independent artists' work on the walls (and for sale), as well. I have wanted to visit for a long time and am so glad I finally made the trip!”

“What a fabulous store! I love the array of eclectic goods—truly something for everyone! I also found the prices to be extremely reasonable for artisan and hand-crafted items. The woman who was behind the counter was pleasant, welcoming, and helpful. She offered to remove tags and package my gifts without me having to ask—service that may seem small, but in this day and age, I find it rarely happens anymore.I will certainly be back to shop for other gifts and for myself throughout the year!”

“Very nice, new multi use display hall. The evening I attended was for a small concert which happened to be outstanding. “I wish I could invite you into my living-room. For years I've enjoyed viewing the woodcuts of Don Gorvett in galleries and museums from Massachusetts to Maine. Finally I have become a proud owner! Words cannot describe how pleased I am with this acquisition. After considering several options presented to me by Gorvett himself, I chose a view of Perkins Cove, Ogunquit that is at once familiar and imaginative. Visit Gorvett's Portsmouth studio and he will provide you with the variety and attention you need to find just the right print for your collection.”

“I never get tired of going into this gallery because there are so many beautiful, interesting and creative items to see. They have sublime fine crafts of all kinds -- jewelry, original paintings, prints, furnishings, glass, pottery, sculptures, clothing, etc. There's a sepia print of the HMS Bounty done by a local artist as a tribute to the famed ship that I was particularly enticed by. Also, the Portsmouth Upstairs Gallery is above the Barrett Gallery and has original fine art with an emphasis on nautical paintings.”

“I had a great experience here during the Christmas season picking out a gift for my daughter. She wanted a slightly oversized cream colored fishermen's sweater and it was a little tricky figuring out the right size for her. The sales woman I worked with was very friendly and helpful, and in the end we ended up with the perfect fit. I'll totally be back. They had a wide range of items, some expected and others more unique. I'd say it was totally worth the trip to check it out, I know I'll be back.”
