Wish I could give zero stars. My wife and I and 2 small children got a nail in our tire roughly an hour away from home. We stopped in here for an easy tire plug. The service advisor came out looked at the tire and said “oh that’s an easy plug”. He then proceed to tell me they can’t touch it today because they have a brake job that needs to be finished before the end of the day. This is 12:30 and it takes maybe 10 minutes to plug a tire. Ive been in automotive my entire life. I explained to him we are over an hour away from home with 2 small children. He then told me I should maybe try Walmart (which is closed in on Sunday) and just walked inside. Really fantastic customer service let me tell you. If one of my employees did that to a stranded family they would no longer be working for me.

I went to replace a tire that i purchase there and they said it wasn’t available. Tried to sell me another set of tires. All i wanted was a tire like the ones i had. Had to go to a different store to get it done.

Just before the holiday weekend, my car crapped out. The closest place that was still open was this VIP. They told me I had a cracked engine in two spots essentially. They lied! Took it to another mechanic and it was the water pump. Went from a total engine replacement to a 200-dollar fix!

I stopped by to schedule an oil change and they got me right in. It was refreshing to go somewhere knowing they were doing the full check. They took the time to show me my air and cabin filters and that they needed to be changed out with no pressure. They definitely did a full inspection and made sure my car was in good shape and gave me some advice going forward on things to keep an eye on. I will definitely be going back here.

Very impressed with the service provided. Favian was more than helpful with advice on my new vehicle. Made some tire and rim combo recommendations as the prior owner damaged the rims.

Updated rating after receiving a call from Mark, the district manager. Super kind and genuine apology and chat to let me know that my experience wasn't reflective of VIP standards, and was being addressed. An offer to send me a gift card (which I appreciated but said wasn't necessary), and assurance that the CarFax info was being updated to reflect accurate odometer reading. I'm happy to return, knowing that any issue will be addressed and customer care is valued. Thanks for the commitment to customer service!
My first experience a few years ago was great. Easy to schedule, good service, good prices. But my most recent visit to get tires rotated wasn’t great. I made the appointment online. But when I arrived, was told they couldn’t take me until the following day. No apology.
I called prior to going in the next day, and good thing I did because they again couldn’t take me. This time a delay until an hour later.
The job was finally done - took a solid hour. When checking out I noticed they entered my car’s mileage at over 50k more than the odometer reading (a totally random number.) I asked to have this changed, and was told the change went through but CarFax would be showing both numbers since the incorrect one had already been entered. At which point I was asked, “You were here yesterday, right?” Weird. I said Yes, but no follow up came. And still no apology for not keeping my original appointment. I can’t say that I have high confidence in service based on this experience. I won’t be coming back.

They were clearly very busy and still offered incredible customer service, helped me with my urgent need (leaked tire) and I’ll be getting my tires done next week!
They also did the thing I find very valuable and not as predictable which is they did not try to give me the runaround or coerce me into buying more than I needed. Thank y’all! ?

Customer service is not always practiced in businesses today. The importance of being greeted upon entering a store determines if I choose to shop at said establishment. VIP Portsmouth gets it! The staff makes you feel like a VIP. If you desire the have your tires mounted, oil or filter changed I highly recommend giving them a visit.
