Town Un-fair Tire You know those once in a blue moon moments when you're so frustrated by how poorly you've been treated by a business, they've done you so wrong, you just have to yelp it piece by piece to gain any relief? You think maybe if you explain in fine detail the ins and outs of each mishap and each mind bending conversation had you'll feel better? Well, town fair warning, this is one of those reviews...I called town unfair tire Portsmouth to book a "waiting appointment" (the one where you're in and out in two hours or less) for a leaking back tire. I let them know I wasn't sure if it was two back tires or just one but they said they would check it on site and have me and in and out with either the one or two new tires. Easy, I think.... Well, as you've probably guessed, that smooth-sailing professionalism lasted about as long as the air in my broken tire on a cold winter day. I took off work and showed up on time on the day. When I checked in they casually told me my wildly popular, common and basic Toyota Rav 4 has special tires that need to be pre-ordered, they don't have any in stock for me and they can't help me... no apology, no remorse for the mistake. I've felt more sympathy at the McDonalds drive through window. They also tell me they can't check for a leak in the second tire unless It was completely flat. They said they'd replace themBoth but when I asked how we'd know If I even needed an additional tire they said they couldn't help me... the opposite of what the person on the phone said. I explain that no one asked for any information about my tires or type for the appointment to pre order. They told me the person who books the appointments is "just a call center in Connecticut, they're not trained on how to book appointments and they don't know anything about tires or cars. They always book people without knowing If the correct tires are in or not". I'm not even sure now to unpack the anti-business practice that statement holds within it but let's move on. They tell me I can come back another time when the tires are in. I leave, I had little choice in the matter seeing how they canceled my appointment while I was IN the shop for my appointment but I let it go. They tell me they can get the two tires in tmrw so I return the following day for my next waiting appointment, filling up my tire on the way to keep it from going flat. When I explained the mishap from the day prior to the person at the desk they told me in essence it was Toyota's fault for not educating their buyers on car tires... At this point I'm scratching my head. I tell him I rely on tire shops to know about tires and that the call center should consider not booking appointments without knowing if tires are in stock first and possibly even get more info from people before booking. Seems like a reasonable suggestion but oh no. Their reply to me: "In a perfect world maybe we'd all know about tires, but honestly town fair tire call center doesn't know anything about cars at all or tires, so they'd never even know what to ask. How would they even know what tire size your tire is? We don't live in a perfect world". Me:, "huh? It doesn't require a perfect world, it's easy business. It just needs a five minute chat to your call center to tell them how to book appointments so people don't skip work for nothing. Them? "Well, yeah but like 9 out of 10 customers who show up we usually have the right tires in stock and they get what they need so it's mostly working." Me: "But you realize that means 1/10 of your customers are getting screwed?" Them: slowly hands paper over counter "Here's the number to our call center, they can probably help you" Me: cricketsNo apology, no remorse, no discount, no more town unfair tire!

I've been a long time customer of the Town Fair Tire in Newington, NH but I will never go back to that location for service because of the terrible service I received on 10/19/23.I had a 3pm appointment which I was about 20 minutes early for and still had to wait 2 hours with no notification of what the hold up was. One of the front desk personnel working that day, James, asked me for my key so he was aware that I was waiting for that long. But neither he or anyone else provided me an update.I understand that they had 2 techs working that day but my appointment should have been cancelled and rescheduled.I rescheduled with a Town Fair Tire in Somersworth, NH and service was much quicker. The techs in Newington, NH broke 3 of my wheel covers over the last several appointments I had there and I need to go back there to get a reimbursement. Instead of using a hand wrench to tighten the wheel caps, they use power tools and it breaks the plastic wheel cap covers.

Have been a customer at the Newington store for a long time. They always give me great service. Most recently I went in with one bad tire, expecting to have to replace them all, and was told to simply replace the defective one, the others had plenty of life in them. Bill will continue to get my family’s business! James was very kind and respectful of me as well.

I came in a walk in and both the manager and owner were extremely helpful in getting 4 new tires. I am in a wheelchair and have two young daughters. They understood how important it was to get back to the family and have my accessible vehicle. They had me in and out in an hour. They offered a great rate. I will be back again for my wife or my next tires as well.

At first I was going to give them a five star rating but now it’s a one star. Back in January of 2023 ( about 8 months ago) I had a funeral to attend in Rhode Island and didn’t trust my wife’s current tires, long story short they snuck me in last minute to put new tires on. The scheduling and customer service was great but that’s where the good news ended. The first sign something was up was when they told me they that they couldn’t do the front end alignment because of the rust on the suspension components ( I had just put in a brand new lift kit and almost all parts were new!!!). The technician actually complimented us on how nice it was to work on something that wasn’t falling apart. The icing on the cake though was today, I went to rotate the tires and when I was removing the from drivers side wheel one of the lugs snapped off. I did not break any others but all were over torqued and 3 out of 20 were cross threaded. Thank fully I’m a machinist and could tap and retread the lugs and lug nuts. A simple 20 minute job turned into hours.

My flat tire needed to be repaired, they were fully booked and short on staff this day, but still made it happen for me! Thank you all for the speedy turnaround and great service!

Ran in on a Saturday, early afternoon, because I had a leak in one of my tires. Super friendly staff got my vehicle right in and discovered a screw in my tire, fixed it FOR FREE (pretty sure this is because I had purchased all 4 tires from them earlier this year) and sent me on my way. I was expecting to be waiting there for hours and possibly have to replace my tire so it was a great feeling to leave with everything fixed free of charge!

While I have used Town Fair tire center for ~40 years and over a dozen sets of tires; I was very dissatisfied with their inability to accomplish my alignment. I can accept the first time they sent me back to my mechanic to free the locknuts and adjustment bolts. However, after my mechanic worked for an hour and a half freeing and lubricating these bolts, I brought it back for Town Fair to complete their work. Now they said that the rear camber "is still froze". Contrary to this:The printout shows the left rear camber was moved from in spec 2.2 degrees to a value out of spec. When I returned to my mechanic for the second time he stated that he had loosened the locknuts and turned both adjusting bolts and sprayed them with a lubricant. There really was nothing else he could do. He suggested I have my alignment done at a shop he recommended as he's had numerous issues with this Town Fair store being unable to complete alignments. I am going to follow his advice, but plan to follow up by requesting reimbursement for the incomplete alignment. I plan on updating this review upon receiving their response.

-0- rating Do not go here, had four tires put on in November and went to do my breaks all lug nuts were severely over tightened to the point some snapped. I have aluminum alloy Rims the torque is 97ft lb they clearly didn't set them correctly. Had to use a three foot breaker bar and jump on it to get the others off.

I dropped in this no appointment with a mail in my tire. James the manager said initially that the repair would take 3 hour since they were backed up. I was delighted when I was told that they would expedite my repair and I was in and out in no time. Awesome!

I bought a new set of tires but there was a slight shaking at 40 mph and another at 70 mph. That happens. Nobody is perfect, but they handled it perfectly. They adjusted my fronts and the 40 went away, but the 70 remained. The Service Mgr then took it for a ride with me and then they re-did the backs. Before he knew for sure they were good, he said "If you need a new set, we will just put them on for you." I didn't; they are fine, but the willingness to correct the problem and get it right and to do it without giving me a hard time was spot on. I only gave it 4 stars because I had to go back. If I was just rating the Service I would give it 5 stars.
