My car-buying experience at Portsmouth Ford so far has been one that I would have no doubt recommending to friends and family! The process was easy, all of the staff were friendly and down-to-earth, and I truly felt like they wanted me to find a car that I would love. The trade in process was easy, and they gave me a great value! This was also my first experience at a dealership that was completely FREE FROM pressuring, haggling, or condescending speech. I worked mainly with Dave Bettinger, and I’m grateful I was able to! I could tell that Dave had my best interest in mind. He listened very clearly to my interests and needs, he honored my opinions, and all around, made the day go by smoothly. All in all, this will be my go to recommendation for anyone in the market from here on out! :))

I recently purchased a used F-150 XLT in excellent condition from Portsmouth Used Car Center. I live in Maine and before I drove down to NH, I called and made an appointment to view the vehicle after I saw in on the Car Gurus website.
I arrived at 3:15 PM that afternoon and took the truck for a test drive. With a Gold Certified Warranty, and at a good price, along with a decent trade offer on my 2010 Explorer Sport Trac, I decided there was no reason to keep on looking for a newer truck. I was on my way back home at 4:25 PM arranging to come back and swap vehicles.
I retuned two days later on a Sunday to make the exchange, and was I there less than an hour before heading back to the Portland area. Jeremy and his staff were friendly, efficient and great to work with. My wife and I had purchased an Edge 10 years ago from Portsmouth Ford, and I am glad to have another great experience doing business again with them.

The service department is the worst I have ever dealt with. A 7:30 am appointment for what was supposed to be a two hour appointment ended up with the vehicle not being ready until 4 pm and that is with us calling asking for an updated time because they never called like they were supposed to. Even at 4 pm some smart person ordered the wrong key fob and they didn’t realize the key for inside was not going to fit ( seriously) brainpower here.
They didn’t wash the car which I have never had a car in for routine service and not had the service department not wash it. This will be the last time bringing the vehicle to this place, warranty or not. Steer clear of them for any service needs as they seriously have extremely poor customer service skills.

I really wanted to buy a car from them because of the reputation that I've been aware of for 20 plus years. Found a vehicle finally that I fell in love with and I could afford - I've never been happier with a vehicle. A little issue popped up (was not their fault) at all and they did everything they said they would and they did it even better than I would have expected. (Thank you Dylan!)
It's harder and harder these days to find a place you can trust - I highly recommend Portsmouth used cars for their proven honest reliable business.
