Canine Cupboard
220 State Street, PortsmouthI have been a customer of theirs since they opened. Since they opened their standards for what they carry in the store have been second to none, their home baked goods are amazing. I can tell that as my dog(s) react different to theirs than any others. And I know they make them with healthy ingredients. The owners are very nice people who just want to give the best for the animals in our lives. Anything you get from them you can have confidence in, both in how much your dog would like it, and you as well.

Petco
1465 Woodbury Ave, PortsmouthWhen we weren’t able to find what we were looking for in Dover, an associate in Portsmouth was able to put 2 toys aside for us. When we arrived, they were right up front and the two guys working were very friendly and great with my dog who is usually nervous around men and protective of me. Thank you for a great experience!

Petco
2454 Lafayette Rd, PortsmouthThey are the best here! We stopped in the other day, on a whim, since we were just getting back from the beach with our dog. And we had noticed his dew claws getting a little long (not as much grind and tear as his other toes). So we simply asked if we could schedule a quick clip for sometime soon. The groomer was terrific, took him right in (his vaccination record was already on file) and *bing bang boom* he was all set and ready to rumble in less than 8 minutes.
Him being a new adoptee, that was great they could do it effiently, without having to drop him off for an hour, etc. Thanks!

VCA Animal Medical Center
1550 Woodbury Ave, PortsmouthI've been a client for at least two decades. I've enjoyed all of the doctor's and technicians - they all work hard and put their hearts into taking care of our fur babies. However, I will say that Dr. Guerino stands out the most. I know he's their Medical Director and has a lot of experience, but being exceptional takes more than knowledge and experience. It takes a special person whose employees regard highly and clients trust fully. I want to also say that I highly recommend the VCA's Care Club program for anyone with pets that have chronic illness. We tried Trupanion and it was a flop / fight - that caused more trauma than it was worth. However, Care Club has saved us a ton of money and allows me to know that we can afford / budget for the care my beloved cat needs. DO NOT decline this coverage, you will not regret it! I truly love the whole team at the VCA, but I want to call attention to two special technicians - Mike and Laine. You both have something special, Mike - my cats just love you, you understand how to make them comfortable and you're a great guy. Laine - you are a great communicator and you helped teach me how to administer meds to my cat - which would've otherwise been an impossible task. I'm so grateful for the love and care your whole team provides to me and all of my Rainbow Bridge fur babies. God bless you all.....it take special people to do the work you do!

Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital
215 Commerce Way STE 100, PortsmouthThe staff is always kind and helpful and thorough with explanation when we have questions or concerns. My dog was very nervous the first time we dropped him off for his treatment but thereafter he was cool as a cucumber and totally comfortable and at ease with the entire process. He goes in there like a boss now and absolutely adores the nurses and Dr Kow!: ) This little guy is doing so well at nearly 16 years of age even with the complications that have brought us to Port City and given us hope and much more time than we would have ever had otherwise. Thank you to everyone involved in his care!

Societe
51 Ceres St, PortsmouthI've been going to Societe for years now, and honestly, I don't know what I'd do without their apothecary teas. I'm a mom to 4-year-old twins, and medicine has been one of the hardest parts of parenting. I've never felt good about giving them over-the-counter cold meds--too many weird ingredients I can't pronounce, and they never seem to help much anyway. But finding natural remedies that actually work? That's been a whole other struggle. Every fall, I make my annual trip to Societe to stock up on my go-to teas: Throat Ease, Get Well, Breathe, Fever Break, Be Well Immuni Tea, and Digest Ease. The first five are always in my pantry. When my kids start sniffling or coughing, I don't even think twice--I make them a warm cup of tea. It's so much easier than fighting with them to take some nasty-tasting syrup that ends up all over their shirt or spit out halfway through. These teas work fast, they taste good, and I feel better knowing I'm helping their little bodies heal naturally. Now let me talk about Digest Ease, because this one... wow. If you've been through potty training, you know the constipation phase is brutal. My daughter was in so much pain, scared to go, crying, and I felt helpless. Doctors kept recommending milk of magnesia and other stuff that just didn't feel right. I tried everything--fiber, prune juice, homeopathic drops--and nothing gave her consistent relief. Digest Ease was the only thing that helped. It's gentle, it works fast, and it gave my daughter real relief without the drama. I've told every mom friend I know about it, and they've all had the same experience. If you're a parent who's tired of chemical-filled meds and just wants something safe, natural, and effective--these teas are it. They're not just products. They're part of how I care for my kids. I'll never go another season without them.

The Kitchen
171 Islington St, PortsmouthRare for us to go to any restaurant without reading reviews but we did at The Kitchen. Greeted and sat as soon as we walked in by bartender and given menus. Server over a few minutes later and took our drink & food order. Drinks on table quickly. And food arrived less than 15 minutes after we arrived. OK, hitting all marks.\n\nMenu mixed, many sandwiches which we both ordered. My wife ordered the Chicken Po'boy, I got the Meatball Diavolo. I love meatball subs, do not believe ever encountered a meatball sub in a regular restaurant. It was fantastic, elevated even, perhaps the best I've ever eaten. I will go back just for that. My wife commented hers was a bit too spicy but it did not stop her enjoying it, also said it was delicious. As were the sides. \n\nBottom line, we'd be back.

TOUR Portsmouth
581 Lafayette Rd, PortsmouthTour Golf and Grill in Portsmouth, NH offers an exceptional blend of dining and entertainment that I thoroughly enjoyed on my recent visit. The ambiance is inviting and modern, making it a perfect spot whether you're geared up for a casual meal or a fun night out with friends. The highlight for me was the state-of-the-art golf simulators, which provide a unique and engaging experience regardless of your golf skill level—perfect for a fun, interactive time. The menu exceeded my expectations with a wonderful variety of dishes made from scratch that combined creativity with comfort food vibes. I especially loved the pretzel bites paired with their delicious dipping sauces and the perfectly cooked chicken marsala skewers. The bar has a great selection of drinks, including inventive cocktails that perfectly complement the food.
