“There wasn’t a problem. There wasn’t an issue. It was spotless. It was clean as a whistle. Breakfast was delicious. Accommodations were gorgeous and I have no complaints whatsoever.”

“We had a great stay! The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were comfortable and well-kept. Every staff member we interacted with, including the valet team, was incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast was decent, and we really appreciated the coffee and water being available throughout the day, and cookies in the evening — such a thoughtful touch!”

“Very beautiful hotel and great amenities. Chloe one of the front desk attendats was very friendly and checked up on me during my stay. Steve, one of the valet guys was likewise friendly and helpful.

My room was modern and had a great shower.

My only gripe with the place, is that there is no free parking. You must pay $45/day at valet, or park outside (which there always is a space) at a meter (which you also must watch and feed during your stay) ?”

“My wife and I took three days and two nights to visit Portsmouth, New Hampshire last week. We chose the Holiday Inn because of their very reasonable price. It was an outstanding stay. The room was incredibly clean, with housekeeping arriving each day. The front desk employees were all cheerful and helpful. A special shout out to “Joe”, who services the Port City Pub; he was friendly, hardworking and accommodating.

Thank you to all the staff, from general manager to maintenance.”

“This is clearly an much older property that could use a significant refresh. With that said, it is very clean and the staff are friendly and polite. Breakfast was also solid, with many of the same things you would expect from a Hampton Inn. Overall, it was a solid value for <$100.”

“We spent one night here because the area looked interesting. What a find! The location was perfect and the room was great. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. We really appreciated the room had two chairs with a small table to enjoy quiet time and coffee. We walked to everything in the area including our Portsmouth Harbor sunset cruise. Highly recommend!!”

“We've stayed at this hotel twice, and both times were great. The location is tremendous, immediately off Exit 7 from I-95, by Portsmouth, NH.

However, even though it's close to I-95, you're unlikely to hear passing cars. The tall trees surrounding the hotel buffer the sound very well.

The rooms are excellent. The hotel's style is quiet excellent without compromise. The beds are among the most comfortable we've slept in. Rooms are very spacious and nicely appointed, with excellent soundproofing as well. The refrigerator is larger than in most hotels. The shower is sublime. (I could go on & on; this hotel is superbly maintained so everything feels new and very high quality.)

Breakfast - if you purchase it with your reservation - is tasty, with several options you'll order once you're in the dining area. Small TVs are in a few locations, so you can catch up on the news, or ignore it easily, if you prefer.

The hotel staff are very helpful, and - if the lobby isn't busy - conversations can be fun, as well. They're well-informed about local attractions and events, if you're not sure what to do around Portsmouth.

This is one of two Marriott hotels in Portsmouth, and both are very good. This is the more upscale of the two, but both maintain the highest Marriott standards of cleanliness, service, and excellence.”

“After reading the bad reviews I was more than pleased with what I had encountered. The room was immaculate. Air conditioning was great. The hot water was endless and quick to arrive in the bathroom. Very polite and happy staff. I would definitely stay again.”

“Counter agent was very helpful when I called direct to book the room, and when we checked in. Room was immaculate, with comfortable pillows and adequate mattress. Easy ride to downtown Portsmouth.”

“We stayed here for our vacation and we were very satisfied. Our room 403 was clean, thank you housekeeping, and was big enough for just us. The only things missing were a coffee maker and a right side bed table, but we made due. We had a great experience overall. Thank you to the front desk associate who got me an extra pillow it helped me a lot with my back pain, and thank you Motel 6!
Some tips for fellow travelers who've never been to the seacoast area: It does get humid and the rooms can feel moist, keep your A/C or heat in the winter on low or auto in your room at a temp yor comfortable with, we set ours to 74 or 75, that will keep the room from getting moist. I only mention this because of some of the reviews. Also, you can only enter/exit from the front entrance where you check in so parking can be a little troublesome if you want to be near the entrance/exit so just plan for that. Also, you can enter the hotel entrance from the highway but when you leave to get on the highway it can be a bit confusing. There's a road on the back side of the hotel that will bring you to Woodbury Ave. From the you can get on the highway from the right or left, and if you are coming back to the hotel from Woodbury Ave you can also get on that road to get back to the hotel. Durgin Lane and Arthur F. Brady Drive lead to this road, its a service rd so it doesn't have a name on Google maps. Hope that helps my fellow travelers!”
