Avery and Kevin were awesome! I mainly delt with Avery but Kevin was very friendly and we had a good conversation. Everyone at this location was friendly. Avery went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my purchase. I had to do a return on an item I was told was new at another location, it had visible signs of wear and a defect. Avery told me without me even asking that the item I wanted was a return. It was in better condition than the "new" item I returned! All locations have been friendly for the most part but this one in particular really stands out! Ask for Avery or Kevin and I can guarantee you will get the best customer service. Thank you for your honesty and making sure I was taken care of. I live in Maine but I will definitely be returning to this location for future purchases!

In past years, I was a repeat customer of this location and bought one of my favorite instruments there with good customer service. During a more recent visit, that seems to have changed. I brought a friend there because he was looking for an electric bass and amp. While we were testing and talking about basses (softly, not loud volume), an employee walked over, unplugged and took the 1/4" cable we were using with a Fender Rumble amp. It was the only cable near us. He never said anything to us, or "are you using this?" or "mind if I take this?" I assume he needed it for another customer, but it was so weird and rude, that we felt awkward and immediately left. The whole time we were there, nobody said 1 word to us, or asked if we needed help. I don't mind that usually. That didn't really bother me, until that interaction. My friend ended up going with Sweetwater.

I have updated my review for 1 star to 5 stars because of the professionalizm of Cory the District Manager / Leader . He was very responsive and took the time to converse with me . He was also very accessible even to his Staff . I went up last Saturday to work things out and we ran into a snag but the store was able to reach out to Cory after 6pm at night and get in touch with him . I applaud his customer service and accessibility. While I don’t entirely buy into the pricing tags / case thing it’s something I will overlook moving forward . Thank youI’ve bought several guitars at this location as well as other guitar center locations . Today I walk in and went to buy a PRS acoustic . List price on the tag back said $999 , the list price on the front sale tag said $1149.00 with $200 off making it on sale for $950. So I went to the front to ask if that’s the best price they could do on it ( spoke to operations manager ) who said no the price is what it is ( he had no time to discuss . I do know they were understaffed but he defiantly didn’t want to talk about pricing ) so I then asked why the back of the tag said the guitar is $999 and the front sale says it’s $1149. He said he didn’t know but the price is what it is . This is the second time this has happened buying a guitar through guitar center The first time I was told because the case cost . That’s funny because the case comes included from the factory . On the PRS every dealer has it with a case as that’s the way it leaves the factory . Now the answer I just got today was he doesn’t know and it is what it is . It seems to me like guitar center is inflating prices when their guitars go on sale and when they are not they go by the list price . Not good business practice at all . The way I see it was this guitar price should have been as stated $999 and with $200 off as stated should have cost me $799 and not $950. There are many tags like this through their store on all the sale items . List price in the tag is different than the sale tag . I bought the guitar because I liked it but in all honestly guitar center should have sold it to me for the $799. I am a guitar collector and have over 30 guitars in my collection and I buy them all the time . I have been staying away from guitar center online because unlike Sweetwater or reverb you don’t actually see the guitar you are getting . However I did like to go into all the surrounding guitar centers to see what they have . This last purchase I made maybe the last from guitar center . I don’t like the weird pricing and then the manager who can’t explain it .Just came from guitar center again and wanted to update my post with an example . The back of the tag here says $1499 and the front days $1699. They claim it comes with the case for the extra . The problem is this guitar comes with the case standard anywhere you buy it ! Im wondering if I told them to keep the case and I’ll take the guitar for $200 less would they do. ?

Normally when you shop at a guitar center its the usual atmosphere you see all the guitars on the wall… and think hmmm which one and an employee is usually right there to assist you then you pay and go home… thats where this place differs these guys will go out of their way to make you happy and ensure that everything went exactly as you expected ? i know this because i have now experienced it theres something about a “Guitar store!” That sets it aside from a music store and these guys get it great service great price very willing to work with me on my order sorry it took two days!! ? in the end im floored with the quality service Evette and Braden (i hope im spelling names correctly) has provided to me i cannot wait to get that beautiful anniversary schecter! thank you again!

Went to buy a guitar, was looking for some help and guidance, but didn't receive any from sales team.Had to select one based on my best guess and limited knowledge but would have been great if they could have guided a bit.

An update to this poor review is in order as the manager of this store reached out to me and made things right. This is never an easy thing to do but they did it and salvaged a broken, long-time business relationship with me and this company. Thank you for this.

Hey, I've been wondering, if I purchased a mesa boogie mark five and it doesn't work, could I return it and purchase a squier mini bass instead? If you didn't know I like squier mini bass

I was in dire need of a vox amp and upon arrival I had some major issues. First of all there were bugs, secondly and fourthly the rudest employees I have ever laid eyes on. Furthermore, the vox amp I had tested had been destroyed and was no longer operational. I swiftly exited in a furious manner. . . Unacceptable.

Spent over $1k for a bass, went to pick it up in Portsmouth and it came with an old, beat-up bag...not a hardshell case. Ok, whatever, I'll deal with it. The zipper on the bag was broken and wouldn't open. The employee had to rip it open to get the bass out and the bag was trash at that point. I assumed they would fix the situation. I was wrong. Here are some of the things I was told by the employee and manager:-We can't do anything...this is the bag that it came with.-At least it opens halfway.-Do you want to return it?-I can knock off 10% on a hardshell case.I had to essentially beg them to include a bag, which they eventually did. Albeit, the cheapest one they had that's as thin as a wetsuit. I would've preferred a deeper discount on a hardshell case. Am I wrong to assume that they would replace a defective/broken product without hassle? At this point, the manager was annoyed and I could tell that she just wanted me out of the store. She plopped the case on the counter, said "You're all set" and walked away. The employee did a 180 and ignored me. I was so discouraged at this point, I forgot to pick up strings, strap, fretboard oil, etc.Overall, a very annoying experience and a hassle dealing with this store. I would've thought spending over a grand on an instrument would garner better customer service but felt like I was a burden to them because the bag was broken. Is there a district manager that can implement some changes to improve customer service and customer satisfaction at this location?

Staff seem put out by simple questions and are not courteous. Gary's is nearby so not a problem for me.
