My wife and stayed in Portsmouth on a Saturday night. She wanted to get a nice dress to go out for dinner at a highly recommended restaurant. We went to various stores and ended up at Ganesh. They had the best selection and the best prices. This is a nice little hidden gem.

I truly love this store as a whole- cool jewelry and clothing. It makes me happy to go in every time. The staff has never been super great, but they've at least been pleasant. Today the sales girl was just downright mean and negative. I was looking at pendants on a tray and she'd loudly sigh every time I picked up another one. Once I accidentally put the pendant back in the wrong square. When I said "oh sorry," her reply was to snipe "yea"... Is this a new vibe they're going for? I hope not.

I went into the store and the girl behind the counter told me they were about to close fifteen minutes before closing time but that i had a minute to look around... seems like you’d want a sale after just opening. seems weird. This was Wednesday June 3rd 2020 around 5:40

Super cute inside. Lots of beautiful jewelry and clothing that were fairly priced. The worker there was also so sweet and friendly, making the experience more enjoyable. To top it off, they were selling/giving out friendship bracelets for a dollar a piece, and all of the funds were going to an underprivileged school in Guatemala. Would definitely recommend to a friend, and plan to come back again. :)

The Ganesh in Newburyport was my first encounter with this local chain. The Portsmouth store is just as nice and has a bit more room. The sales staff is great and don't harass you while you shop. Like it's other stores, you'll be able to find a neat gift for that special lady in your life as they offer a variety of unique clothing, bags, wallets, purses, candles, paintings and jewelry. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the items top notch making it a great local business to support.

They had amazing items here and a whole lower level with sale items. Some ok prices for a botique. I was ready to buy a large amber ring. When I said hi to the ladies at the counter one ignored me and the other just looked at me with her eyebrow raised. They then turned away from me to finish the conversation about how they hate how customers walk into the sale level and then leave without buying anything. My family and I, being the only customers in the shop walked out.

This is a pretty cool store. For all the griping about the salesgirls, I liked the fact that there wasn't someone bothering me while I shopped. Also, I met the owner while I was there, and she was pretty nice. They have an interesting mix of things and some very reasonably priced items, including sterling silver studs for, I think $4 a pair. I left with earrings, some sage smudge sticks and a really cute dress that has birds flying out of their cages.

THis is the GREATEST store in Newburyport and Portsmouth. The employees are so nice, especially the owner. I sometimes go in just to say hi to him.
