As I wrote in my 2016 review, I'm a Market Basket fan. The Plaistow store is the closest to me, but it's one of the weaker links in the chain. Some parts are tightly packed. The toiletries and cosmetics aisle has displays running all down the middle, effectively dividing it into two aisles each wide enough for just one shopping cart. You can get stuck behind someone and have to back out.Recently the price scanner was removed from the bread aisle, and I've been told it's not going to be replaced, even though that's the aisle that most needs a scanner. Most of the pre-packaged bread doesn't have clearly marked prices, and now you have to take it to a scanner three aisles away to find out what a loaf costs. The excuse I've been offered only makes it worse. Yes, prices are printed on the plastic; but they're impossible to read, and they're the suggested retail price, not the store price. When I mentioned this problem on Nextdoor, some people who may or may not be Plaistow store employees told me I'm lazy for not wanting to carry loaves three aisles over to scan them and that I should be grateful that the store sells bread at all.Every store has its problems, but this one doesn't seem to care enough to address them.

If you had asked me my favorite store pre-Covid, I would’ve picked this store hands down. Idk what’s happened since, but this place is terrible! The only redeeming quality is the workers (they’re the only reason I gave an extra star). They’re great! From 2 people barely being able to fit down an aisle, to the house fraus meandering around clueless blocking up the aisles and intersections, to pallets and carts of stock, to being out of stock on multiple items, the meat dept passing off tri-tip as sirloin tips, the bakery prices have doubled ….I can’t stand going here! I can’t remember the last time I’ve been able to complete my shopping list in one stop. More and more I find myself going up the street to Shaw’s. It’s less crowded, better selection, self checkout so hardly any lines… If you want to go to this MB after work for a quick in and out, you’re gonna be sorry. I’ve been wanting to write this review for months, but yesterday was the final straw. I’m done shopping here.

Most all the morning cashiers and creww that work weekdays are very nice. This store has poor rotation of product and you can easily find many out of date or near out date products. The dropping of a pallet or pallets in an isle to stock the shelves is a big issue there. It's a busy location and hard to meet be through the line of pallets along with not being able to get to get some items on your list. Using a utility cart would be a lot better than stationary pallets on the floor.Poor ordering of product is a huge issue. There are quite a few things I can't get but can get at other nearby Market Baskets in Haverhill. Some of there meat cutters are not that good. Uneven cuts look like they were done by a 12 year old. If you buy a multi pack of steaks they are all different thicknesses and not by a little but by a lot. They will fold an extra blood pad under an uneven steak to make it look even. The deli can be a trainwreck depending who is working. Some will yell out 2 number quickly back to back with no slight pause between numbers. Then that sometimes leads to customers debating who is really next even though you have a ticket starting you're really next. The store has issues that can be fixed easily. Over 20 years shopping there I have not seen an attempt to make things better.

Great place to shop, cleaner than the other store near us and more items to shop for.

Yeah, if you could go ahead and put your ketchup and mustard in the same aisle like you're from planet Earth, that'd be great. I know you want us to traipse through the whole store and see more things to buy but it actually just annoys us.

Love the large super center they have in Epping. Prices have gone up on everything. Clean store with a large selection of everything. Hannafords meats are cheaper. Paper goods and condiments are less at MB.

They don't have the best produce, but otherwise this is a very convenient location to get everything you need in one stop. Their artisan sliced bread is the best.

This store is one of the smaller Market Basket's in my area. I have 8 in easy driving distance from my home. Each one is a little different from the others, but meat prices have gone out of site in all the stores. I wanted to buy a small steak and found very little offered in a price range I could afford. Pork and chicken aren't quite as bad, but their catching up. I'm beginning to try their pre-made dinners which are good and only require a few minutes in the microwave. As a senior, these meals save me time and money. If you price out all the ingredients in these meals, their not as bad as you would think. Since I'm not going to become a vegetarian and I'm to old to work, I'm trying new ways to save money on food.

As a resident of Florida and being spoiled by all facets of shopping at Publix, it is a joy to come North and shop at Market Basket! The shelves are stocked, the prices are good, the meat selection is awesome and the efficient and friendly cashiers and crew make Market Basket the only choice in the area.
