Steady on nice pub. Good fries. Can’t go wrong with a few drinks and either a burger or a pizza. Always like stopping by. Last time I was there I had a salad and it was very well done.Parking: The lot fills up on busy nights so don’t be shy about the street or the library directly across from them.

What a local gem. We fell in love with it because it’s in our darling village…then by having friends from near and far… and we mean really far… LOVE Thom’s, we saw that it’s not just a local gem but in fact, just a wonderful place! Year-round, it is a quintessentially charming rural New Hampshire establishment with local warmth and delicious food that you can count on! Best pizza from their brick oven!! The bar feels welcoming and familiar like Cheers. Worth the drive as you’ll be away from the traffic—enjoy!!

This is my second time to this restaurant in a few months. My first experience was mediocre. Since so many people rave about it, I figured I would give it another chance and brought my husband here for his birthday. He had the Prime Rib which was ok. My Haddock was dry, breadcrumbs on top were dry, rice pilaf was ice cold. The waitress offered to bring another dish of rice but I declined. The butternut squash soup was very sweet and barely room temp. I'm disappointed and won't be returning ? The only saving grace was our exceptional wait staff

We like this place, everything we have tried was g9d, the portions are substantial and the prices are reasonable. The staff are very friendly and work hard. Like many places, they could apparently use more staff, but that's a pretty common occurrence nowadays. All in all, we'll be back.

Truly a wonderful place to go and have a great meal, very friendly staff, and the food, what can I say except yum. My wife and I will definitely be coming back for more. Just a little FYI folks you like meatloaf, then you have got to go here.

I never feel very welcome when I go but it's a favorite spot for my brother in law so I've been half a dozen times. The hostesses always seem accusatory when asking if we have a reservation. Like they couldn't possibly make room. Same thing if we call for a reservation.

Had the chicken picatta (very tender) which was excellent. I ordered veggies instead of pasta which were perfectly cooked. and they gave me veggies My wife had the meatloaf with veggies also and was best meatloaf we've for many years. They calamari was perfectly cooked as well, with a great sauce. My wife had the butternut soup special which was really delicious. Finally we also ordered the onion soup which was great

The place was packed, they were dealing with a national point of service outage, but yet the service was great. Our server was attentive and amazing! The macaroni and cheese was by far the best I've had in a restaurant. Great job to the whole Poor Thom's team!

We have been to Poor Thom's several times and it's our favorite local restaurant. The food is always amazing, the service is always great, and the place is has great atmosphere. You can sit outside in a beautiful setting, sit in the tavern or in the dining room. Can't beat this place. Please bring back the French dip sandwich! Hehe!

We have been fans of this local favorite since it's first day, mostly because it's such a unique place for our village. That said, over the years, we have come to see just how unique Poor Thom's Tavern is: nestled in a village that has only one traffic light, across the street from the post and beam barn library, Poor Thom's Tavern is a nostalgic throwback with excellent food and service. You almost always see a familiar face, but more importantly, you see friendly faces. It's also wonderful that you can eat both indoors and outdoors and it's great to spend some time after dinner walking around outdoors in the mellow countryside. All the amazing food you'd find in the "cities" of the UV in the bucolic, calm location of Meriden.
