opened a savings account requested an atm card. Now got noticed in mail that I'm getting a debit card and my current one will be closed. I never asked for that nor was I given the option upset

I was hoping to do some small banking tasks and felt that I was being a nuisance. First I wanted to send coins I had accumulated through their coin machine but they stated it had been broken for 6 months. They are a bank they don't have a coin sorting machine? Then I deposited a check and asked for my balance. The check was deposited but I did receive my balance...asked again and you would have thought I asked for a huge loan. Finally I asked for three sheets of checks just to have and after I received them they tell me each sheet is a dollar. I said is that new policy..I wasn't charged before. No your initial first sheet is free and then we charge you.It was not the cost. It was the manner in which the information was given and when. I like having some of my assets in a local bank but maybe I should look for a friendlier place.

Horrendous. If I could give -5 stars I would. My husband and I used Bar Harbor Bank for a new home purchase. In the beginning, things seemed to be going well, but as we got closer to the closing date, the communication from our loan officer, Laurel, went south. She never reached out to us to discuss the closing disclosure and there was a significant discrepancy in what our understanding was vs. what reality was, which could have been avoided had she taken the time to do her job properly. The worst part was when I expressed my frustration to her about the experience and disappointment, her response was: "this sort of thing doesn't happen to me." I felt like saying, "well it just did, so how are you going to make it right?" An authentic apology would have gone a long way, but we never even got that. To make matters worse, I reached out to Laurel's boss, Jaime F. who is the SVP of Residential Lending. I emailed him and left 2 voicemails and he never responded. My husband and I were APPALLED at the utter lack of customer care and attention that this institution provided. In the end, it wasn't even about the mistake on the closing disclosure, it was about Laurel and James's response, or rather, utter lack thereof. Stay FAR AWAY from this bank and lender, there are plenty of others out there who understand the value of customer service. We'll be taking our business elsewhere.

Dreadful. Just dreadful. Terrible customer service. Clerks seem unable to use appropriate communication skills. For the second time at this bank, I have had to instruct a clerk about the pro esss for a simple transaction on my IRA and federal requirements for bank documents. Watched as the manager let his mask fall below his nose and he even removed it when speaking to me within a few feet. There was no action to assure that customer limits in the lobby were adhered to. Only one clerk had a nametag on.There is a huge portable air conditioner that blows unfiltered air directly onto customers at the counter. This bank has gone way downhill since being sold. I will be removing all my accounts within the next few days.

Very pleased with the bank cleanliness, the customer service, and bank atmosphere... much like a hometown credit union... I have found all the staff to be very helpful and pleasant.. I do all my banking here. Highly recommend.

None of the counters were clean, all of them had crumbs and fingerprints all over. No reason for staff to treat people like scum when there are so many banks around that are nicer, like Peoples and TD Bank.

We have been Lake Sunapee Bank, now Bar Harbor BT, customers for about five years without a glitch. While we still have banking relationships elsewhere too none, absolutely none compare with the reliable service (above & beyond), accessibility (there when you need them) and friendliness of the office and staff in Peterborough - especially Manager Kevin McElhinney. We're about place our mortgage there as well for the same reasons. Feels very home-town. Their website access is improving now with the positive impact of BHBT.
