Our family has banked with Sugar River bank for almost it's entire life as a business. Until recently they have been acceptable.But lately issues have come up with lost mail (owed funds), having to show the bank where it's professional staff can't find unnecessary charges after a dedicated 8hrs working on one particular issue, and tellers who don't know what they are doing.It's your money, they do not care. Don't allow this business access to any of your finances.

They've treated us well thus far. They're happy to help if there are any problems. The drive through banking is open at 8 am which is very helpful to me.

I have been banking with Sugar River Bank in Newport for many many years probably about 10 years and the service is good, the tellers are friendly and the service desk lady is wonderful, once you need too sit down with someone about your Bank Account, it may jus be me but they dont always seem happy at all. My Bank card always has at least 3 times a year that it's compromised from shopping at store's like Wal-Mart, Rite Aid ext. I don't shop online and i only shop at mainly certain places cause i dont make really much money so i have too be on a budget so its not like i shop at multiple different store's all around, which in my opinion that's where I would understand why its comprised but the same store's all the time.... The new updated mobile apps is kind of confusing too me, i hate when transactions are pending but yet they took the money anyways and when the transactions that are pending finally go through i dont know whether if I have been charged again for the same transactions.

After several years of transferring money from my H&R Block Emerald card for a $35 fee, with all appropriate proofs, the branch manager at the Newport location lied through her teeth and said it was not their policy due to names not on the Emerald cards. She then tried covering her pathetic lie by saying her people needed to be trained. What a farce.In addition, I have had several debits go through on EXPIRED and SHUT DOWN debit cards.This is completely unacceptable. Once the remainder of my tax return is deposited, I will be gleefully firing them.

I love my hometown bank. They are always sweet on the phone and always get things taken care of immediately. I moved accross the country and still use them for my banking needs!!!

Wonderful banking options and sincere customer care! Terry Beaulieu in the mortgage department worked with my husband and I during financial difficulties (business loss, medical needs, home damage) for a year and a half to help us get caught up again and on track. You are NOT just a number here! If you want a real community bank Sugar River Bank is your answer and they have terrific business services as well.
