These folks took incredible care of my cherished senior cat when he got sick and was ultimately diagnosed with cancer. Urgent care and specialist care...plus understanding and love...for years.
Today I took another cat to them. A feral rescue that has been with me for 5 yrs. This gal had a nasty eye infection. I was lucky to be able handle her enough to get her in to this hospital. And I can't say more about how awesome this team did. From front desk to doctor. They all did so much to accommodate my cat's special needs...the vet performed most of the exam and treatment on the floor, so as to make my cat most comfortable. I wish this vet could be our GP.
Exemplary. All around.

The front desk staff, vet techs & doctors at VECC are absolutely wonderful. We have had a few instances where we have been referred to them from our regular vet and the care they provide is outstanding.

Stopped by on a Wednesday night due to my cat’s sudden UTI. I was already irritated and discerned by my other visit at another emergency clinic in Boston that same day. So I was pretty much ready to hear the same “scare” tactic that I usually hear when I go to vet clinics, which provokes you to opt into the more expensive treatments. At VECC NH, it was nothing like that at all. Was greeted kindly by Alyssa from the front desk and they immediately took my cat to the back room for examination.
About 15 min later, Dr. Fragola came out, introduced herself, and announced that my cat didn’t have a blockage and further explained to me what are the next steps to remedy the situation without pressuring me to look into surgery or anything that’s going to break the bank. She was very informative, knowledgeable, and above all, a human being unlike the other vets in the city that just points out life threatening conditions. I live in Boston and would drive all the way up here again just for the service and rationality.

The staff at VECC are always kind and compassionate. Anytime one of my pups has an issue that needs immediate attention, I head to them. Thanks for all you do, VECC!

You guys are saints! I called last night to get my cat an emergency blood transfusion, this was the 3rd emergency vet hospital I called all the other told me it wouldn’t be possible on such short notice. Within an hour they confirmed they would be able to do it, the staff here went as far as to bring their own personal cats in as donors to help my cat. Immediately when I walked in and saw the staff reaction to my cat’s condition I knew he was in good hands, they were caring and loving and provided my cat with the best care possible. Unfortunately and due to no fault whatsoever of VECC my cat ended up passing away. The staff at VECC did an amazing job with the notification process and was extremely comforting and kind when breaking such awful news. I can’t thank you amazing people here at this hospital enough, you’ve made such a tragic and heartbreaking event as easy as it could possibly be, between breaking the news and setting up the after care. Should I ever find myself in another emergency situation with any of my pets again this will be the first place I call. From the bottom of my heart thank you all for trying to save my little kitten’s life. Rest in peace Tuckerman, I’ll miss you forever.

They have taken great care of my dogs in the past and are currently treating one of them for hyperparathyroidism. He had surgery yesterday (I'm grateful they could get him in for the surgery) and is doing well in their care. Would definitely recommend them.

Kind compassionate non judgmental
We saw caring and kindness, not only towards us, but all the pets that arrived while we were there.
Nobody wants an emergency with their pets.

Listen to the other 1 star reviews, these people only care about money. Brought my cat here after he wasn't eating much, had excessive drooling and I let them know he seemed to have a hard time eating.
They did an emergency exam which they said they didn't find anything, they then recommended xrays and bloodwork which we agreed to, none of their tests revealed anything and they sent us home after only treating him with an anti-inflammatory, it all costed over $1300 and we were there for 3.5 hours and received no answers as to what was wrong.
We even called them later in the evening to confirm they performed an oral examination (Which they confirmed that they did a basic oral exam but said that we could come back and have them do a more thorough oral exam if we pay even more money for sedation).
I then took my cat to his usual primary vet the next day and within 15 minutes they performed an oral exam (No sedation) and they were immediately able to identify the issue and provide the proper medication, costing less than $100 total.
Avoid this place at all costs.

Brought my beautiful 17 year old puggle here when she started showing signs of canine dementia and having a series of strokes, as well as having become fully blind and deaf. They did a thorough exam, gave me her prognosis (which was not good) and explained all of the possible care options.
The staff gave us a lot of time to process the information, and allowed us to come to a decision without pressure and without judgment. When we decided that her time had come, they allowed her to die in my arms, and she gave me one last doggy kiss before her heart stopped.
They staff were professional, compassionate, and extraordinarily kind. They gave us time alone with our precious pup, so that we could say goodbye, and then handled everything related to cremation. That was over a year ago, and I still have the condolence card signed by the doctor and staff who treated her at that last visit.
Thank you to all of the staff for making an excruciatingly painful process a little bit easier to bear.

FOUR HOURS OF WAITING. they told us they were stable, but more critical patients kept coming in so they left us waiting for FOUR HOURS. We expressed concern because we had to evacuate our home from chemical fumes hence why we were getting our cats checked out, and still needed to buy supplies for our cats since all items lost in the damage. They also told us we needed to hurry and give them a bath when we get home. But held us waiting for 4 hours. We were then told it would be almost 900 DOLLARS!? When they determined that they were fine. We refused some care and took others. We accepted THREE medications for precautionary measures. Denied saline and nausea medication because they were not nauseous or vomiting, no other meds causes nausea that they prescribed. Hours later she came back closed the door and said "here's the deal, we gave them the saline because they need it, we won't charge you for it" WTF! Not only do we have a traumatic experience, waited 4 hours when being told they are FINE, but now I get to feel like a bad pet owner??? NEVER coming here again.

I brought my dog in for a laceration and Dr Ramsey saw her. Jada got two stitches and required sedation. $600 later I brought her home only to have the stitches unravel and fall out after just a few days after as they were not properly tied off (I'm an RN by the way and know my way around appropriate wound care). I was in touch with the manager Jess, she did offer to pay for any further care Jada may have needed (thankfully the wound has stayed closed despite not being appropriately treated), but declined to refund any of our money despite the emotional distress this has caused myself and my family caring for a 6 month old very active puppy with a large laceration that has no closures. Do yourself a favor and do not consider taking your pet to this establishment that is obviously in the business of making money, not properly caring for animals.
