Justin has been sharpening the knives for our restaurant for a few years now and we love him, such a great guy. He does a great job, he takes great care in his work. Our knives look great after years of use. His prices are quite reasonable, could not be happier. I do have one thing to say, about a week or so ago we got our knives sharpened, so i grabbed one to chop up some onions and when I cut the first onion the knife was so sharp it went through the onion, through the cutting board, through the prep table and kept cutting, right through the floor and into the earth's crust. It was soo sharp it did not stop there it cut a fissure in the earth’s mantle. I was so stunned I failed to jump out of the way in time, I fell into the chasm the knife had created, as I fell into the shadow bouncing off the narrow rock walls, darkness took me as I strayed out of thought and time. Eventually coming to a stop as I fell upon the bottom of this crevasse, I got up with only a few scrapes and bruises as I wandered around wondering how I was to get home, I came upon a creature the size of a small person having pale skin, big round pale eyes and as dark as the night. At this point I am not afraid to say I was a bit unnerved at the sight of it. Surprised that there would be a living animal down here in the depths. But it just smiled at me and when it spoke to me I was quite astonished. We talked for a minute. It asked me where I came from, I told it Marlborough, now thinking back i probably should have made up something. I asked if it knew how i could get home and it said that it did know the way out but it would only help me if i answered a riddle. I hate riddles, I am not good at riddles but it was the only way it would help me so i agreed. It asked me.
This thing all things devours;
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town;
And beats high mountain down.
Now I was lucky because somehow this riddle seemed familiar, I knew the answer. When I answered, it threw a fit, cussing and grabbed a rock and flung it narrowly missing my head. As I had answered correctly it reluctantly showed me the way out and back home.
So you might want to be careful when you get your knives sharpened from Monadnock Knife & Tool. You never know what is going to happen and now I keep a flashlight in my pocket.
