“TL;DR: Efficient and honest service.
My 2008 Honda began leaking transmission fluid, so I took it in. Russ checked it out, and drove it around the block a couple of times with me. We scheduled to get it in and up on the lift a week out. I assured him I'd keep an eye on the fluid level before my appointment.
Before the appointment, he said there were a number of potential causes. The easiest being axle seals, but of course once they start opening it up there's no telling what they might discover.
I dropped it off after hours, and got a call the next day that it was in fact only an axle seal, and that they had replaced it, parts and labor for $143. Not bad!
Simply put, the cost was their lowest estimate.
Folks, these folks do transmissions. That's all they do. They know what they're doing, and they're efficient.

My grandfather came to aamco with his truck and we agreed to replace the transmission but when it came down to doing the work his mechanic realized the vehicle was rotted underneath and did not want to do the work because the vehicle is not even safe to drive. So happen thay david had a car at his business that someone had left behind and GAVE the vehicle to my grandfather and put the transmission in that vehicle!
