I walked 2.4 miles on a 90+ degree day to santander Bank with a check written to me from one of their customers / account holders. I have cashed about 4 or 5 checks from the last customer of mine in the past without issue. Today they tell me that I need 2 forms of ID. Which I produced. A valid driver's license as well as a birth certificate. Next step, They send a link to upload your ID so they can verify your identity. I follow the simple directions of taking a photo of front and back of license then uploading....WELL...it won't load I try again same problem keeps rejecting the photos for some reason. The teller tells me I can try 1 more time then she won't be able to cash it. Giving me attitude like it isn't her problem. I explained I walked there and had to be at work in a hour and need the money to take a uber back. She was not helpful at all. I asked her to speak to a manager and she tells me " hes just going to tell you the same thing". Ok lets chat with him. The manager was friendly but again no help. I asked if he could call the person who wrote me the check with the number they have on file to confirm the check. He said normally they would but can't because they can't confirm my identity. During all this I've been up loading pictures front and back of my license as expected....FINALLY IT GOES THROUGH ON THE APP AND SAYS SENT!!... only to find out there is a problem on their end saying it "can't make a determination" 3 times it couldn't make a determination. Now aggravated I ask the manager can I just open an account . AGAIN he tells me I can't because their link they use is having problems! I asked the manager for his bosses number because we're just going in circles. He leaves the room and makes a phone call out back. When he comes back he said you can call my boss "Tony Rozon (insert phone number). Well he's going into. Meeting but can take your call. Awesome thank you! I call this slug 5x never a call back nothing. If I could give your customer service negative points thats what you would get and deserve. YOU HAVE ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE being a bank that should be right up in the list of top concerns. why don't you reach out to your customers and let them all know that their checks are no good if the recipient does not have a santander account. SANTANDER IS MOVING TO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS SOON.I want you to know that I had such a piss poor u satisfactory experience in your "bank" that I will never use you again. For any banking needs. I will also make it my goal to make my voice heard as YOU SHOULD BE DOING!

Wish I could leave zero stars ,They give you the only run around about everything, not only do checks take to long to clear unlike my other bank it just seems like there’s always a problem when dealing with customer service I probably will be closing my account soon this place is nothing but a headache and there ATM is always out of service or will eat your bank card horrible bank

I rarely need to stop in at our local branch, but every time I do I am always greeted in a friendly manner and treated as a valuable customer.

I had horrible service I was lied to made to believe money was available when it wasn’t. Random holds on your account don’t travel they think your card was stolen the Manchester branch has some untrained people working answering questions they don’t know anything about I will be closing my account

I appreciate having knowledgeable staff at this location, especially the quick & professional service provided by Sean (sp) your manager. All associates are friendly & genuine.I wish you could have left the Merrimack branch open, can't understand why Nashua can have multiple locations and then remove your only branch in a town. I'd hate to leave this bank, but I suppose my vote doesn't count

Called about an account question and when I led off with that the girl instantly hung up on me without a word. Called back and they ignored my call. The Derry Branch was super kind and helpful about it. If you’re going to hire someone, at least make sure they know how to handle a proper phone call.

They are giving me such a hard time about changing my name after getting married. Walk in with a valid marriage certificate (legal government document) and a STATE ISSUED LEGAL temporary ID that is temp because I just changed my name with the DMV. I even said I can provide my updated social security card. They won't let my husband and I open a joint account until I have my hard copy ID even though I can provide many other documents to verify who I am. It was easier to change my name with the SS office or DMV. It's like they've never had to update a woman's name after marriage before or never have seen anyone receive checks as wedding gifts. You would think this is something they deal with regularly. I'm not sitting on thousands of dollars in checks while I wait for the government to mail my hard copy ID. When we first walked in we were told we needed the marriage certificate only. The hoops I am having to jump through to get my LEGAL NAME updated and get the money deposited into a joint account is ridiculous. Do they want to see my wedding pictures to verify I actually got married? Not sure what they expect me to do. Awful.We also tried to buy a car and were cut off by a daily transaction limit and they had zero phone support available when we called in to try to up our limit. We had to drive back home to get a check and drive back to the dealership. Very annoyed with them recently. Only a good bank if you are broke, I guess.

Just another bank. I will be closing my account and going back to a credit union where you're not just another number. Banks in general don't care. Very disappointing!

While I am not sure if it’s just this branch in manchester (and Nashua) but I’ve always had the worst experience and customer service! I am mother’s POA and this is her bank so I try to deal but they are just horrible! I would never use santander as a primary bank! I cannot transfer my mothers account fast enough!Failure to keep promises and definitely not here to support their clients!!!
