The driver, Jeremiah, was very organized and knowledgeable about the entire process. He was very professional, polite and respectful, and quick to provide advice to improve our move experience. The local crew for loading and unloading was efficient and careful with our property. There was no damage to our belongings or to the buildings at shipping and receiving.Overall a great experience. I would recommend Allied highly.

Allied initially estimated the weight as 9000 lbs and I asked for furniture to be removed from the inventory before the lock down date, as I had donated many items to charity. The price was not reduced even though these items weighed about 2000 lbs. Asked for a call back to discuss - no call back from over a week ago.

I did an interstate move, and was really happy with the local company. I was notified regularly on the schedule, they helped me get free used boxes I needed, and the 2 movers who did the packing and loading really seemed experienced. However, the experience at the destination was much less than satisfactory. Only one person showed up to unload and put things together, and as a result there was damage to a wall and the dining room table that now needs to be fixed. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any control over who does the delivery at the destination. I’d actually give 5 stars at the origination end, and 2 stars at the destination.

Our moving experience was a disaster from the start. A representative did the estimate over FaceTime of what our move would require and to give us an estimate (17,000) to include the transport of three vehicles. Upon moving day, the driver was irate, as the estimate of the move that was completed over FaceTime, was horribly off. So much so, that the driver had to sleep in the cab of his truck outside our home overnight, to wait for another crew with more packing materials the following day. When that crew arrived the next morning, it was determined there was not space enough on the truck (as it shared space with another person’s move) and determined that they would have to send another “overflow” truck the next day. When the next truck showed on the 3rd day, they did not have any packing materials (even though they were instructed by driver to). Blankets and Amazon boxes were used as makeshift to get final items loaded. The initial delivery was confirmed for drop off by company, but payment in full required first (27,000. That’s $10,000 more than original estimate). This was paid and the truck arrived on schedule, but informed us that the remainder of our items were on another truck, with no estimated day of arrival. It is currently two weeks after the move, still missing a truck full of items and Dan Oliphant, who was my contact at the last leg of the move, has stopped replying to my emails and text regarding my family’s belongings. My wife and I have started work at our new state of occupancy and need to know when to arrange to be home when/if our truck of belongings arrive. $27,000 dollars paid and our family is being rudely ghosted regarding the whereabouts of our possessions. Then yesterday I received an email from someone at allied van lines moving company… not a response to my inquiry about our truck.. but one stating the following:“ Hello,I work for the (Allied/North American Van Lines) tracing department. I am checking to see if you received any items on your move that does not belong to you. If you could please advise at your earliest convenience what that was, I would appreciate it.Best Regards,Jennifer Klincik Claims Adjuster Assistant, Consumer Claims”So apparently the competency is poor enough, that loss of delivery is common place occurrence. ? here is to praying for my families belongings reaching us. I should have brought the 27,000 to Las Vegas… would have had better odds of success.

The consultation was excellent. We were very confident that we had made the right choice to go with Ray the Mover for our move from NH to SC. We were assured that there would be clear communication through the process and that they were full service, we didn't have to worry about a thing. Unfortunately, things did not go smoothly. They were concerned about blocking the street and recommended using a shuttle and not the big truck. We were not keen on having our belongings handled multiple times without our presence so I made arrangements with the police and town to ensure that there would be no issues. Unfortunately, they sent the shuttle anyway. The crew loading was not terrible but reeked of cigarettes and were obnoxious, chatting and giving each other a hard time through the process. We followed up for an explanation on why the shuttle was sent after the crew asked my to sign the paper adding over $600 in transfer fees to our quote. After a long run around and having to forward emails to them where arrangements were made for the large truck, they agreed to waive the transfer fee. Unfortunately this did not save our belongings from sitting in a warehouse for several days before it was loaded on a truck just in time for a winter storm. After countless attempts to reach someone who could confirm our expected delivery timeline, we were told that our belongings would not arrive until the following week, several days after the original five day window we were provided. This posed a significant hardship for my wife, two small children and myself but at least we knew when our stuff was coming. The delivery driver finally contacted us and wanted to deliver our stuff a day earlier than what they had told us which didn't work with the alternative arrangements that we had to make. the delivery driver and his helper were polite and professional as they began to unpack out stuff which had been sardine canned into a section of the large truck. The silver lining in the story is that they only damaged some of our stuff. Things like our Webber grill, file cabinet, salon chair and glassware were no match for the 10' vertical stack of belongings. Everything would be water under the bridge except they never reimbursed me over $900 in transfer fees and weight refunds. If I ever do it again, I would hire someone to load and pack and drive my own stuff. Half the cost and half the headaches.

My family used Marathon Movers because they had 66 five star reviews when we were searching for moving companies. Marathon Movers worked with Allied for our move from MA to N.H. Marathon movers showed up to our home for the move with a truck far too small to move our belongs. We repeatedly mentioned this to the movers and we were laughed off and told it would fit or we were told there were no other trucks available. They squeezed all of our belongings into that small truck for over $6,000. A week later when Allied showed up to unpack the truck in N.H. they were several hours late. I was lied to at least 3 times by “the boss” about when the truck was arriving and then how many movers would be there. Two exhausted movers showed up and began unpacking. I was promised by the boss that I would have two teams of 3 movers (totally 6) working at my house because they were so late. Two hours later 3 guys show up to help. Everything was off loaded by 9pm, so we had no time to check. The next day we realized our top stair was broken, our television was ruined, our water cooler was damaged, and the movers never assembled items they were contractually obligated to put back together upon arrival. The boss told me to fill out a delay claim form and Marathon told me to fill out a damage form. After spending a significant amount of time to complete these lengthy forms and including photographs and a statement, I was told they would not honor the delay claim. I was lied to AGAIN and just told to fill out a form to basically shut me up and get me off the phone. Then I was offered $60 for the $1,000 worth of damage this company did to my property due to their own laziness when we repeatedly expressed our concerns about an extremely small truck. I was even told that I should have expected the damage to one of my items due to it being moved. Aren’t you professional movers?! Shouldn’t you have ensured my property didn’t get damaged in the move?!

Beware! We received a quote based on a list of items and boxes we sent. We did not end up needing a great deal of furniture moved as we decided to sell these pieces prior to the move date. On the move date, the movers (who were nice guys) said there boss wanted them to hurry up to do another job up north. They had only been there a couple of hours and my quote was based on 7 hours, 3 movers and one truck. I agreed to give one bed to one of the movers rather than discard it. I believe because of this, the movers wanted to make 2nd trip to fit in the mattress and boxspring (king size) for personal use. I was charged over $600.00 for the 2nd trip. The manager, who took days to respond to me, claims it is because of the weight of the truck. This cannot be possible as we did not move the bedroom set (six pieces), a wall unit (3 pieces) and another living room set (3 pieces)! So, I was either misquoted initially, or completely taken advantage of and overcharged. Oh, and I should mention, my son and nephew helped the movers unload the truck to be kind to the movers as we fed them. I cannot believe this is Ray The Mover's way of doing business. Very sad. Unfortunately, I am forced to seek third party assistance as this overcharge is completely unjustified.
