In contrast to several of the reviews here, I’ve had a great experience with Irving. I own multiple properties and, this past winter I ran a test with amerigas at one property and Irving at others. With amerigas I saw delivery delays, billing issues, tank rental fees, and India based customer service with no local contacts. Irving has been the opposite. US or Canada based service is great and I never even think about fuel levels, it just shows up. Pricing contracts are good with the fuel club or hilltop energy. After getting rid of amerigas I have all properties on one Irving account to take advantage of volume discounts as well. Fuel discounts at the gas pump are nice as well. If they were publicly traded I’d buy shares but this is a privately held company.

Terrible customer service now. We have done business with Irving for over ten years and now their employees constantly make mistakes and cost us money. Automatic deliveries were not made, and we have had to deal with frozen pipes. Invoices not mailed and then they send payment letters. The last straw was when they closed our account because they changed payment address but sent pre printed envelopes with the incorrect address ultimately losing our payments. So done!

Irving ignored my fuel order over the coldest weeks of the year and I paid in advance. Water lines all froze thanks to them and it was completely ignored as well. Avoid at all cost.

They lost all their good help, who is ever left does not care if people are left cold. Astounded that they are okay with me winterizing a property in an emergency instead of sending an on-call tech (who was there once already and said to give a call If it was not working.). I waited for an hour after placing an emergency call, asked for an update, and was only informed then they weren’t sending anyone. So now I get a hotel room for my tenant, winterize the home, and will have some competent company take care of it tomorrow. Thanks for nothing Irving! Glad you didn’t get my commercial business if this is how you treat one of my tenants!

regret having irving energy for propane. They disregard my requests to leave the receipt ticket at the door. This has been 3 years now. It's a joke l guess to them.

I just called Irving to inquire about a new installation for two new tanks and was asked to have a hard credit check before someone is sent to do a site check. Let's see, NO! I am serious about the installation, but I am not willing to agree to a hard credit check without first knowing what I am buying and how much it costs. It is like having your credit pulled for walking into a dealership and simply looking at cars. Irving makes it very difficult to become a new customer. I worked for my credit score and I am not about to give it away, so I will pass.

THE WORSE COMPANY EVER!! 1. shouldn't take a week to deliver 2. Overly price for propane and for emergency delivery 3. They had not made their scheduling date several times due to weather in Canada and we live in the U.S. 3. Very rude customer service, as in they tell my 80 yr old grandma who is on hospice that she needs to go outside and check her oil more sufficiently so that she doesn't run out. 4. They gave us a broken tank where the meter doesn't work well so we do not know what its reading. As soon as weather and snow gets better and melts, we are switching out. Do not use this company

Basically the worst and most inconsistent company I have ever dealt with. I hate that they are only in my area on Thursdays. Also somehow a tank of propane used to be $300 fill up but this time it was $420.50. Lame company. If you love your family, stay away from Irving Energy.

Tried to switch to Irving. Waited 2.5 months and 3 attempts for a tech for a site survey. They send a guy with back issues who isn't physically capable of servicing my heater because it's in a “confined†crawl space (4.5 ft high, clean, cement floor) They will not take me as a customer , and now it's too late to purchase prebuy propane at my old company. Thanks so much , jerks. Every monthly $700- fill up this winter will make me hate you.

Irving oil has been the WORST oil company I have ever experienced.

This company is awful. I gave up a good company for oil delivery for promises not kept by Irving Oil. I was told that they cannot come into my yard if the dog is out so I went on will call for oil delivery. Every time I call for will call I get a date for oil delivery and they either come before the date of after, never a phone call to let me know. I called and asked why and their attitude is "well things happen". Well I know that but every time? Then I get put on hold to talk to delivery but never get answered. Sorry Irving but no deal. I am changing back to Fitch Fuel. Your customer service is horrible and no one cares.

Worst heating company I have ever worked with, hands down. Here's what happened. I called on December 18th for a 100 gallon fill up telling them that we were at less than 1/4. Which was when I was taught to call for a fill up. They told me that they would be delivering it on the following day the 19th. They didn't, I waited through the 20th thinking that "maybe they got busy". I called on the 21st to find out what happened. They said that our delivery was moved to the following week on the 26th. I told them that we couldn't wait that long and reminded them that it was their fault that the delivery was late. They sent someone out on the 22nd but only delivered about 60% of the 100 gallons we ordered. The temperature had plummeted to sub zero and we ordered the oil to get us through the cold snap. Because they delivered only 60% of what was originally ordered, the cold burnt through what was there by the 1st of January. Facing projected cold for another week, we ordered another round of oil on the 2nd as soon as they opened (the 1st was a holiday). This time we ordered a full tank because we didn't want to go through this with them again. They told me that they were going to put it in for next week (the 9th). I explained that we were only in this situation because you didn't get us the full delivery we ordered and they said they would try and rush it in this week. Being sceptical, I called back to check on it the next day (the 3rd). I asked what the status was and they said it was still scheduled for the 9th. I explained the situation and went back and forth with them on it. I let them know that this was their error (they admitted it), I requested that they fix it immediately (they refused), I even pointing out that we would likely run out of oil before the 9th...they emphatically informed me that "even if you run out of oil, we will not deliver until the 9th". I threatened to involve my layer and they still wouldn't budge. Typically I show a lot of grace to companies when they cannot meet demand. However, this was not that kind of situation. In this case when people are dealing with sub zero temperatures (especially when Irving admitted that it was their own mistake) they should have bent over backwards to fix it. Instead they took the position that it was better for the property and the family (children included) in that property to risk freezing rather than correct their own error. This is unconscionable, and they should be ashamed. If you love your family, DO NOT work with Irving Energy.

Very poor communication, we were totally left in the dark despite repeated calls to the office. Waiting on hold for 10 minutes before any one answers, being transferred and waiting on hold, just a poor overall experience. We have been without hot water for 6 days for a relatively easy fix, was told they would be out "Tuesday at the earliest" and it is now Thursday at 4:30 pm. I called an hour ago and they said the rep was "pulling up now". Obviously he was not. If you want better communication and customer service go elsewhere, this is amateurish.
