Ppl r helpful and vary polite they did there best to answer any questions I had honestly and as fast as possible admitting they didn't know answer to some of my questions and doing there best to get me the right information as fast as they possibly could and not just making up an answer because they didn't want me to know they didn't know the answer or just to lazy to find the right answer for me and basically just giving me any answer to get ride of me so I'm happy with me experience there and will b going back and would definitely refer others to as well

Excellent customer service. I was looking for a specific Yeti item that they did not have in stock in the Laconia store. They called another location and had it for me next day. Very friendly staff, well organized and convenient!

Had their salesman come to the house (at the request of a contractor that was bidding job) to get a quote for two windows and two replacement doors. Gave the salesman a copy of the door specs from Lowes (Thermatru - shaker style). The salesman quote the doors using Brosco instead of Thermatru. Which was fine as the photos he provided looked like the same door as the Lowes info. Doors came in and were completely incorrect. After many discussions, they agreed to take doors back and credit my account. They reordered doors again, when they came in the window glazing was correct this time, but they had traditional style windows on a shaker style door - ended up taking doors back myself as they refused to pick them up and they never returned any more emails or calls. Spoke to Store Manager in person. Never got a response after that from him or anyone else. Emailed Benson to cancel my account. They refused and sent a statement showing the fees for the original doors they were suppose to credit back to my account and the current door charges. They are trying to bill me twice! I wrote a lengthy letter documenting the case to them....never got a response. If they send any more bills or try to collect anything from me, I will retain a lawyer and make sure they are put out of business for good. - stay away

I've lived in Derry for ~30 years and continuously patronize Benson's Hardware. The staff are always helpful and it a pleasurable experience as compared to the big box stores. Now the reason for the review: After buying a second house in Laconia last Nov, I was excited to learn the local hardware store, Boulia Gorrell was in fact a Benson's owned store. Our new house needed a full bathroom gut and remodel. My wife and I met with a salesman in their Kitchen & Bath design Center. He came to the house, drew pictures, took dimensions and referred us to a contractor. Although it seemed odd when he said we would contract the job directly with the builder/ contractor we decided to give it a go. Wayne, from Boulia Gorrell said he would be back in contact to help advise and coordinate the design part of the job. We NEVER heard back from him. We did have a few additional meetings with the contractor he recommended. He "appeared" to have the necessary experience and at first was very prompt following up. Then things changed. Excuse after excuse as to why he was late responding, why he hadn't had time to provide a quote and so on. You get the picture. Obvious red flags. Needless to say, we discontinued discussions and found a very reputable bath remodel company who we ended up hiring. BTW we were very happy with the results. The moral of the story - beware of using the Boulia Gorrell design center. Not sure how they stay in business with their lack of focus on customers who spend almost $20k. Not one bit of materials or supplies were purchased for this job from BG.

Horrible experience. I went there to pick up lumber that my wife called in and paid for, when I got there the guy handed me my slip and said he would tell the guys in the yard I was coming. I get out to the wood with poor directions(telling me to go to the yellow structure that was actually brown), and waited 10 minutes for the help they called. No 1 showed so I started loading it myself. Most of the wood was damaged or not right so I had to pick through the pile. And when I got half way through loading, an employee came up to me and told me rudely "that pile better be the way you found it" then walked off to smoke a cigarette. Not once was I asked if I needed help. Very pathetic customer service and explains why there weren't many customers there.
