The Jackson Historical Society is a lovely and very welcoming museum. The volunteers are a wealth of knowledge, sharing stories about the displays, such as a large stage curtain that has been there for decades. The museum preserves and archives the town of Jackson, hosting artists' renditions of the White Mountains. It features 19th to 21st century art across its first and second floors, with a special upstairs exhibit focusing on 19th century art from women inspired by the region. The museum is free to enter with a donation bin worth consideration. Visitors find the work done here invaluable and often plan to return.
I would definitely return to Jackson Historical Society next time I’m in town. The lady volunteered told me the large stage curtain on display was there since she was a child, the story behind it, and other little stories. That’s so nice to know. There were lots of artwork and fun facts in the first and second floor.
