Buying your first car on your own can be a little bit intimidating. I had the pleasure of working with Bob today and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. Bob was informative, helpful, and kind. He gave me exactly what I wanted and he wasn’t pushy nor did I feel taken advantage of. I’ve had the unfortunate experience of dealing with sleazy car salesmen before and it has been the reason I haven’t bought a new car yet. Going into Merchant’s auto, I expected to deal with the same. Bob was anything but. He let me lead the conversation and made adjustments along the way based on my needs and requests. He sat with me while I waited for HOURS for the insurance stuff to clear and helped me work out a solution with it. Celebrating 50 years in the industry, nothing beats working with a well-versed, well-mannered gentleman like Bob. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, especially first experience, buying a car. Thank you so much Bob for all your help!

Buying the truck was a good experience with Joe, but the people who answer the phones, can’t seem to answer even the most simple questions. There were too very small trim pieces I was supposed to get and received the wrong part and the other piece just never came. No one fallowed up with me after I told them in service. I still haven’t received them. Pretty much they treat you good till they get your money then your just chopped meat. I had to change my 5 star to a one star, I’d leave a 0 star if I could. I can’t even schedule an oil change ??

STAY AWAY! They are sweet and innocent people until it’s time for them to take ownership and responsibility. Then they pass it around like a hot potato. They will sell you the car one day and then act like they don’t know you the next. Bought a vehicle, and the extended warranty. But they won’t honor the warranty! Had to threaten an attorney, and then they helped me get the work done under warranty. But I paid 4k for the warranty, now it only covered 1.1k of all the repairs when they totaled 3k out oh my pocket. I mean how can you sell a warranty but then it doesn’t cover what it says it supposed to, and to even get the 1.1k back I had to pay a deductible of 200. I’d say great people, and nice cars. But when it comes time to do the right thing they will look the other way!

UPDATE: Needed to go back in to resign all my paperwork. Didn't receive all the updated paperwork from them and need to go back to pick it up.
Had to bring the car in because it was vibrating, the service department didn't want to look at the car because he didn't want to get a speeding ticket because the vibrating was at 75/80 miles an hour. So I brought it in, they got me in, waited two and half hours for mounting and balancing.
A week later back in because it was still vibrating. Was told, they won't do anything else after this because it is between a 1-3 and at that point they don't do anything about it, if it was above that they would take it back in. So at this point, I drive my car because it is between a 1-3 to them. Still is 100%, but was told as well that it is a used car and wouldn't be perfect!
Long story short, I wouldn't go back. I asked for something in return for the inconvenience of having to go back several times (3) and haven't heard back. Not up to me to keep good customer service.
Initial experience was great: I drove in with my old car and was determined to leave with a new used vehicle. Toby was AWESOME and very patient. I told him what I was looking for in a vehicle (which was a large range of vehicles) and we narrowed it down to the Mazda SUV or Honda SUV. They didn't have a Mazda on the lot that I really wanted, but the Honda HRV (and I wanted gray)!! LOL!! That's all I wanted to look for is a gray vehicle and Toby humored me. I drove off with a beautiful 2022 Honda HR-V and LOVE IT!! Logan was the finance guy and just love him as well! He had a great sense of humor and very quick on process my paperwork.
I would buy here again if even needed another vehicle.
Thank you for making it so much easier to purchase a vehicle and not keeping me there for 6 hours!! Under 3 hours after driving a few different cars and processing the paperwork.

Ok. So worst place. I would never buy from them ever again. Will make it my job to let everyone I know how bad they are. Traded in a 2020 Tacoma to lower a payment. Bought a 2019 explorer. Wanted a few things fixed. No call back. Noticed more issues as we’ve driven it. 70k and it’s starting to rust.
I know it’s my responsibility to look at it. But to sell a car like this off a used dealer lot that’s supposed to sell good cars. I’d stay away. We also has a Sentra bought a long ago from that frame had an issue that they sold us as well. Buyers beware

Watch out for the old bait and switch... They advertise 100's available for the Mercedes Sprinter, but don't even have 1 on the lot ... The guy I dealt with didn't seem to want to help at all, so I had to go into Massachusetts to get the vans I was looking for... If you're looking for a sprinter, don't bother going... They will try and pressure you to get a Ram or Transit because thats all they have there... Laziest salesman I ever came across....

Two years ago I walked into Merchants and I spoke with Peter Phaneuf and he worked his magic and got me into a new to me vehicle, a 2018 Ford Escape. I loved it. Well here I was 2 years later , my vehicle was totaled and I had a pick up I hated driving, so I took a ride and who was at the door but Peter and he did it again. This time was unbelievable. He not only got me into a 2021 Ford Escape...its fully loaded black leather interior and has all the bells and whistles and to top if off it only costs me $10 more than my 2018...how is that even possible , I don't know...if you want an amazing experience, Peter is fabulous at Merchants!!! I will definitely be back!!! Thank you once again!!!
