Started doing grocery pickup with them to save time. Well, first, if it is out of stock, trust they will substitute a much more expensive item every time. My quote would be like 250 and the charge 300 plus due to subs. Also, the sub is not equivalent. I ordered gatorade. They didn’t have it so the sent diet crap. I ordered a multi vitamin. They didn’t have it so I got a women’s 50 plus tablet…..no one in my house is close to 50. I had to argue for a refund. To get around this, I set no substitutes. And that is when they started charging me and not sending all the items. So like tonight, I was charged $10 more than I was quoted and shorted $43.86 worth of items. I had to call and argue the point and basically, I’m screwed out of 40 bucks and am going without dinner. They didn’t send me the items nor substitutes nor did they refund me the money or notify me. They no longer print an invoice. It is all done online so make sure you go through your receipt in the email and check off your order. They are stealing from you.
In response to owners: I have reached out to you. I contacted the store because I thought we just forgot a bag. I was told those items were out of stock. That’s fine, but you shouldn’t be charging me for them. When I pointed this out, I was told I was going to be refunded… that was four days ago, I have not been refunded. I opened up a case on your contact us site with a notation from you guys on Friday that said I would hear a response in 24 to 48 hours. The response I got was you are still investigating this and that response was on Saturday. We are now on Tuesday. I’m now at 96 hours. I have no response and I have no refund. If I were the owners of this company, I would be concerned too. I didn’t leave this review because I’m a horrible person. I left this review because you took my money, you didn’t give me the product, and I’ve been trying to get you to make it right by following all of the steps you require me to and you’re still not fixing it. My point to the public is drive the hour to Market Basket and shop for yourself then you know you’re not getting screwed Because the time I have wasted trying to get this fixed is longer than the time it would’ve taken me to go somewhere else and shop for myself. And you know, looking at all of the reviews here for your Hillsboro store and your response is always we don’t want you to have this experience. We reported this to the proper authorities. They obviously don’t give a shit at all because nothing’s changed and my issue is probably one of the worst ones because you’re stealing from me outright and blatantly, but like most of the complaints are the same. Maybe you should actually leave your office and deal with it.

Only reason I go here is because it's 5 miles from home. Everything is way overpriced. Hillsboro needs a market basket in the worst way.

Since I moved to New Hampshire I’ve been shopping at this Shaw’s location for about 11 years. There was only one negative incident of an issue with an employee but I let it slide because of the employee not being able to understand social cues.
Today I was waiting in line for the cashier to finish up with the customer before me. I noticed he was having pleasant conversation with that customer so I readied myself expecting the same.
When it was my turn, the cashier “Colin” didn’t acknowledge my greeting or my presence, had conversations with his fellow employees and the young lady who bagged my items as he scanned them in. He never told me what my total was so I had to look over his shoulder to see what it was. He crumpled my receipt before handing it to me and being the polite person that I am I STILL said “thank you” and he proceeded to ignore me and say absolutely nothing while continuing on conversation with other employees. The young woman who bagged my groceries told me to “have a nice day”.
I believe “Colin” needs a refresher course on customer service. He was pleasant enough to the gentleman in front of me as well as his coworkers. Why wasn’t I paid the same courtesy? I wasn’t rude…I made no snide remarks or comments. What about me led this young man to treat a customer this way? I’ve been working in customer relations/service for over 25 years and I have NEVER felt the need to ignore a customer. Especially if the customer is being polite. I’m very disappointed.

Good bakery and produce. Very friendly and helpful pharmacy employees. Shaw's carries a wide variety of items and is good for a quick shopping visit.

Today I witnessed a female employee at this store absolutely accosting a customer. She ranted for at least 5 to 7 minutes and would not leave the customer alone. It took a while for other staff to intervene because everyone thought she was related to that customer or something. A different employee even mentioned that she thought there was a kid who was ready for bed. Then people realized she works there and they panicked.
The customer, an older later, repeatedly told the employee to leave her alone and she would not. Other customers told her to leave the lady alone and she continued.
Everyone has bad days. We can’t all say the right things perfectly all the time. This was completely different than that. The employee was way out of line.
I didn’t stay to see a resolution. The employee was still ranting when I left.
I haven’t seen this level of disrespect to a patron of an establishment in my life. It was brutal. I hope that management takes action accordingly.

I always shop the sales, so prices here are good, and comparable to the other grocery stores (and they use the same sales flyers that Concord does, so I'm not sure why others think the prices are higher here). If you don't pay attention to sales, you pay more, but that's how it is for all stores.
I always check my receipt because it is often the case they over charge for something, though I think it has been better the last year or two.

Worst meat dept ever ! I shop at 4 other grocery stores and meat is fresh . Still no change in store shelves empty on weekends and u spend $300 in groceries and have to bag them yourself . Store manager sucks and HR dept needs to do better !
