My salesman was Liam. Liam, the finance manager, and the general manager all worked very hard to get me into a new SUV. I wasn’t sure I was able to get into new car , but the whole team got it done. I will be going back in 3 years. I want to thank them again.

Wonderful service compared to other dealerships in the area. They were speedy and efficient in the buying process and Alan was an amazing sales rep. He really listened to what I was looking for and found the best option for me. I can’t speak more highly about the people at Portsmouth Volkswagen!

I had the best car buying experience with Portsmouth VW. I went in looking at a specific car and was able to test drive and make the deal with no hassle. Jeremy was very knowledgeable and wonderful to work with, and the whole staff was professional and welcoming. I love my Tiguan, and will be recommending Portsmouth VW to everyone I know.

The salesperson Alan was fantastic, knowledgeable and did not pressure us at all. One of the best car buying experiences I have ever had. They even did an inspection so I wouldnt have to take it somewhere to do it.

We have gone to 10 car dealers and finally this is the one we feel like we made progress with, we don’t have a vehicle yet but Alan is confident and on a search for us, with our poor credit I was not hopeful about anything until coming here, this was a last after a terrible experience, the great thing about this dealer is the amount of cars they have to chose from - by coming here you have so much flexibility to find a vehicle even if your credit is bad or your budget is low

Poor communication between sales and finance. Multiple mistakes. Had to call back about a charge on my sales agreement that was was not supposed to be there.

Alan was so kind and helpful along with everyone else I interacted with! They made my experience buying my first car myself easy and stress free. I’m overjoyed and very satisfied with my new car!

Terrible. Brought it here for service because my Jetta was dying out of nowhere- said it was my oil filter ? - sure maybe it was, I don’t know. They changed it and the issue continued. Brought it to another dealer- told them what this deal told me- they laughed and told me I got scammed, there’s no way it could be the oil filter. Go to any other dealership- good luck

I recently bought a Jetta from Masha and she was able to make the entire process go smoothly, ask for her when you come in! I got by far the best price around. Ryan in finance was also able to help make financing a lot simpler than we expected.

Highly recommend working with Joel Purdham. I worked with him trading in one vehicle for another and did not play any types of games which I appreciate. It was a long drive to get there from where I lived but in the end I got the vehicle I was looking for at the price I wanted to pay.

The experience upon walking into this place was the most unfriendly and unprofessional sales encounters I’ve ever experienced in a business setting. The sales people were aggressive and rude. My wife, who is 9 months pregnant, was treated with such disrespect that even 1 star is too favorable.
When we walked in to return our leased vehicle, no one greeted us. My wife walked around looking for someone while they all ignored her. When I finally went to ask about returning the leased vehicle, the person I spoke to said “I’m new, I don’t know how to do that” and walked away. When someone finally came over to us, he just said “give me your registration.” No explanation. There was no greeting, introduction, or communication whatsoever. When he found out my wife had already done the lease turn-in inspection through VW credit, he was displeased to hear that we had already spoken to VW about the process. He insisted that we would have to pay money on the vehicle, and that we needed to sign a bill of sale or else we would owe money on the car. He wouldn’t listen when my wife tried to tell him that she already did the inspection and didn’t owe anything because she purchased lease-end protection. When we showed him the Volkswagen inspection report which stated that we wouldn’t have to pay anything, he became even more aggressive towards my pregnant wife. He insisted on us signing documents but would not explain them even when we asked multiple times what they were for. She of course would be willing to sign what was necessary, but he could not explain to her what the purpose of the docs and bill of sale were.
He never sat down with us, and just stood over us. He raised his voice when she tried to ask questions. There was no conversation or communication whatsoever. He never introduced himself so I don’t even know what his position was.
When we finally signed all the documents, we weren’t asked if we wanted copies. We wanted to leave as quickly as possible as it was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. After leaving, we realized that we wanted copies for our records. After walking back in, the rude and aggressive sales representative told me how this is a trustworthy business that has been reputable for years, and that they’re “not trying to do anything shady.”
It’s unfortunate because my wife’s first car as a teenager was purchased from this dealership, and in the 2 decades since she’s only had VWs, but now she will never go back to this dealership ever again.
If you go here knowing that you won’t be giving them money or making the sales reps’ lives easier, you’ll leave feeling disrespected.
