We appreciated being upgraded to a larger room; that was an unexpected treat. Beds were super comfortable, shower and bathroom great-very stylish. We had a delicious breakfast -thank you !

This was the first time I was in Concord and the first time I was in this hotel. The greeting at the front desk was very professional and timely, and my room was ready. I came just on the cusp of cold weather, and the heat wasn’t on yet. It only took about 15 or 20 minutes for that to be corrected. The room was very comfortable and met all of my needs. Nice place, beautiful time of year as the leaves returning and only a block from the courthouse.

This review is only for the customer service and staff at the Epoch restaurant, as we reserved a space for a rehearsal dinner and didn’t stay overnight.
We had booked the Epoch months in advance for our wedding rehearsal for almost 30 people, and upon arriving at the venue, realized we had accidentally given the Exeter Inn the wrong date - the day after! The staff whipped into action and got the space ready for us, and had the buffet dinner served within 45 minutes. Dinner was delicious (the mashed potatoes and roasted broccolini were my favorite) and the staff was attentive and helpful as if we had never made the mistake to begin with.
Thank you so much Exeter Inn and Epoch for making the rehearsal dinner happen, we are forever grateful!
Food and drinks: We had a seasonal Frisky Pumpkin cocktail and it was perfectly sweet and cozy, and everything served at the rehearsal dinner (steak, chicken, salad, bread rolls, roasted vegetables, cheesecake) was delicious too!

We found the Exeter Inn to be beautiful and elegant. The bathroom in our room had been updated in a way that looked appropriate to the style of the historic building. Our room was large with windows overlooking the street. We took the train and enjoyed an easy a scenic walk to the hotel, and later enjoyed the easy and scenic walk to the downtown area where there are a variety of shops and restaurants.

No one was at the front desk when we arrived. Please get a phone for the front desk that is wireless so if your staff step away, they can answer if someone shows up. We had track down front desk staff through a maid in the basement.
This inn was last upgraded and or decorated in the 1990s. It needs a complete reno to make it more modern and functional. The main entry door is tiny and not appropriate for an inn of this size. No ramps for wheeling luggage in and out. The Inn's side entrance is by the function rooms and we literally walked by a wedding service in progress by using the side entrance. There should be doors there so people aren't walking through a wedding ceremony.
Our room was on the 3rd floor. It was quiet and the king bed was comfy. The bathroom was tiny with a shower tucked under an eave of the roof. No shower door so it soaked the toilet that was oddly placed next to it. Sink area had a tiny basin and wash stand that didn't provide enough counter space. There were bugs in the bathroom - ants, fruit flies and a variety of dead bugs. Water temperature would change from fine to scorching to freezing within seconds. Toilet had to be flushed twice each time it was used.
We were there for 2 nights and our room wasn't cleaned during our stay. Do Not Disturb signs are not provided. No information about the hotel or area in the room. Coffee maker was exceptionally dusty. No refrigerator in the room.
We found the bar and brunch to be more expensive than other places in the area.
It's about a .5 mile walk to downtown and it's a beautiful walk.
While my review is only 3 stars, we'd stay here again for the quiet and the convenience.
This could be a 5 star spot if renovated and upgraded.
Safety: We didn't have any issues and felt very safe in the area of the inn and exeter in general.

The room looked good but when I took a closer look it was pretty dirty! I got a jacuzzi suite and reserved wine to be in the room on arrival. No wine in the room. Quite disappointed the jacuzzi had a green/ brown ring around it after filling. The closest where brown and dusty from not being cleaned same with the windows. For the price they want to spend a night here this is not at all what I expected and there breakfast is the worse that I’ve ever seen options are 2 types of bagels, yogurt, or 4 choices of cereal. Hampton inn is way better with better prices

Great location near town center and Phillips Exeter Academy. The rooms are not large (as is an inn) but a comfortable size with a comfortable bed. Very clean. Food in adjacent restaurant was amazing. Service was amazing. Rooms were nicely done. Very classy with New England charm in a historic home. Perfect for couples or solo.
