Owner is very rude and very unprofessional. After getting viscously attacked by two dogs and being in the emergency room all day yesterday and advised by a medical doctor not to use clay, the owner denied giving any refund or accommodations to me at all. I understand you can’t give refunds out to anyone- but I was advised by a doctor to not to come in. If this studio even issued me even a 1/4 of a refund I wouldn’t be writing this review, but instead, the owner got very aggressive with me on the phone to the point I needed to hang up. It would be very unsanitary for my blood to be dripping into the clay, which I thought the owner, Lori, would understand. The front desk woman Celia was very understanding and tried to ask Lori if there was any way she could accommodate me but Lori refused any and all accommodations with no sympathy. I feel bad that someone as kind as Celia has to work for someone as unforgiving as Lori. I will no longer be supporting this business
Edited to add: I do not have crutches and my legs are fine. You talked over me on the phone and wouldn’t let me talk. Owner or not, the way you spoke to me on the phone was unacceptable, telling me if you let everyone’s excuses fly you’d have no business. I told you I have police reports of this. I have multiple bloody bite wounds up my arm, and If I would’ve gone to your clay class, I would’ve gotten blood in your clay, tables, etc, which is deeply unsanitary. I couldn’t get stitches because my wounds are at high risk for infection. I was okay with even going into a cheaper class, you did not offer any accommodations as youre now randomly saying. You told me there was nothing you could do because I paid for the instructors to be there today. I figured going into a cheaper class would be easy, instead of you guys needing to clean up my blood and throw out more clay than necessary due to sanitation reasonings if I did decide to come in. I prioritized messaging you guys while I was leaving the ER yesterday, so I let you know as soon as I possibly could and called as soon as the studio opened today. I apologized multiple times to Celia for inconveniencing her, she was very kind, and only became upset when Lori spoke with me aggressively and told me I can’t tell her how to run her business. I had no idea 10 days ago that my dog and I would be aggressively attacked.
& again, my legs are fine, I do not have crutches and I never called to ask about walking down the stairs. You must be confusing me with another customer.. I have bloody wounds up my arms and hands. You didn’t listen to me and instead, yelled at me over the phone. clearly Lori does not mind if there unsanitary blood on her clay, because she told me to come in despite doctors orders. So, if you’re immunocompromised, be aware. I never emailed you at all, I Instagram messaged you as soon as I possibly could because Tiff told me that is your preferred contact method.

Updating because the owners were so kind to reply. You have completely fabricated a story about crutches that my girlfriend does not have, and we never emailed you about any prior ailment whatsoever, only a single Instagram message on Friday evening. What is with your false claims? The ailment was a dog attack YESTERDAY (Friday), which was stated directly to you, that required both the dog and my girlfriend to go to the ER. She messaged you on Instagram yesterday, that you say is your preferred form of contact, as soon as she physically could which got no reply. We expressed our frustration in your unwillingness to properly accommodate the emergency, not with anger that you are wrongfully claiming. If we had planned on this attack happening, you gladly would've gotten a 10 day notice. And thank you for trying to accommodate her to still come in today, directly against the doctors orders that we told you about.
Original Review:
Don't have a medical emergency, they won't do anything to help you or even put credits towards another class. They just take your money and tell you to deal with it, or just still come in, even if the doctor advised against it. Extremely unprofessional and unwilling to accommodate in the slightest. I guess they got their money, so they're not worried beyond that.
We specifically asked if they could get my girlfriend who was injured into literally any other class to could still come here, but they refused all of our attempts at reconciliation.

Very nice store friendly people but was very disappointed with the pottery basics "class". There was no instruction or help with learning the wheel which is what it's advertised as. Didn't recieve a refund either.

Shopping in Exeter, I stopped by Exeter Fine Crafts. It was full of dozens and dozens of beautiful creations with everything from hand-crafted wooden items, tiny wooden boxes, and hand-made hats and scarves to artisan-crafted jewelry, pottery, and wall décor for the home. It took me nearly an hour to take in everything. Some of the things I saw that I really liked included: ● A note card with a Siamese cat on the front that reminded me of my aunts cat Si ● A note card with a rooster with fluffed out tail feathers ● Small paintings of butterflies ● Fabergé-style eggs similar to one my uncle used to make ● Butterfly earrings ● Colorful scarves ● Large prints of bigger-then-life lobsters ● A painting of orange day lilies ● Hand-crated rocking horses ● Pottery and glass objects ● Miniature wooden boxes ● A painting of a kitten The woman on duty was very nice. I enjoyed my visit. I rate Exeter Fine Crafts at 5.0 and recommend a visit. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below.

It was a total pleasure being at Exeter Fine Crafts today, thank you so much for hosting me and my piles of beach stones. The gallery has so much wonderful work, I can’t go in there without going home with something myself! Thank you to all the people who came and purchased hand made work today, from either me or any of my fellow craftspeople.
