Warning: you need a reservation for this place! We tried getting dinner here at 5 PM, last Saturday (i.e. 5/27/2021) and we were turned away. However, before leaving, we easily made a reservation for the following evening at 6 PM.Best steak in Portsmouth--maybe even all of Southern New Hampshire. The Library is an historic landmark in Portsmouth, NH. It is now a restaurant but it was once a hotel for visiting dignitaries. If I'm not mistaken, Teddy Roosevelt once stayed there. Diners will be treated to an ambiance unlike no other in P-town: dark mahogany walls and shelves, a tin ceiling with individually painted tiles, and yes, books on shelves. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is the staff. They weren't very...hospitable, however, give them the benefit of the doubt and try this place with your sweetheart.

Always a pleasure getting my hair done here with Jane! The owner, Robin, has done a fantastic job abiding by the COVID-19 guidelines by rearranging the salon to fit the social distancing rules. Hand sanitizer and masks are provided. You will sure feel safe getting your hair done here.

Love my hairdresser Darley and finally able to get a much needed haircut. Things are different now and everything is sprayed and cleaned constantly which is a good thing. I feel for the ladies due to the limitations imposed, but we all have to adjust to the new normal

Bad cut, worse color. Had to go somewhere else to get the mess fixed. $120. I don't like confrontation so can't go back. Terrible job.
