We took my appy Spud down for ongoing foot problems. He just kept getting abscesses. He has been nerved and there has just been no real soundness. We resorted to glue on shoes because of white line that was destroying his hoof wall. They took additional films, reviewed all of his prior records and it was determined that he has pedal osteitis. A farrier put klogg shoes on and doxy was prescribed. He is comfortable, and although I know we have a long road ahead of us, I know we'll get there. He is going back down in May for another set of shoes and xrays. To think this all started with a stick going up through his coffin bone in 2018. Thank you Dr Davis and your team for making my boy feel better.

New England has been absolutely fantastic to work with. I sent my mature stallion in for a castration while I was out of state and Shannon made sure I knew how everything was going so I was worry free! I would absolutely recommend if you are looking for a team of experienced professionals to care for your equines!

Very professional, Dr Davis spent a great deal of time and detail working up my horse Razz. Dr. Abbey Gieke also awesome! And Nikko also wonderful with handling my mare. Very impressed with all the good care we recieved!

Such an odd perspective from another reviewer ~ we have always had such professional experiences with NEE ! For over 11 years they have provided excellent care to our horses. From on farm calls to in hospital treatment, they have a wide range of abilities (IV medication, Ultrasound, Endoscopy etc). Dr Raynor made us feel like we were her only call of the day, taking all the time the horse needed (even though she had lots of other patients to see) and surprisingly took time to respond to owners who would ask her to “just check” their horse “while she was there”. Discussions about testing and cost were informative, science based and collaborative. We have seen several vet techs with them over the years, they were always professional, competent and kind to the horses. i have seen them manage difficult horses with skill. Office staff have been easy to communicate with. We are so lucky to have an equine vet with surgical skill so close at hand. Of course, there are always two sides to every horse story, too bad medical professionals can’t share theirs with the public. Thanks NEE ! Happy you are in the “neigh”borhood !!!

Always such a wonderful experience at NEE! Have dealt with all of my horses and always went above and beyond looking for the cause of any lameness, and then providing a personalized solution for my horse and me. Could always count on Dr Raynor!

I Have used Dr. Raynor for a few years now and this facility and her cease to amaze me. Last year my horse encountered an injury, Dr. Raynor took the time to call me, since I was at work, and walk me through every step of the of the process. Having a young horse injure themselves can be a very stressful experience, but she made sure to make it as easy as possible for me. She took the time and explain to me every possibility, what our action plan should be and what our options were. She gave me options based on my budget and worked with me every step of the way. I will forever be thankful for the way she took care of not only my horse, but of me as well.

recently used NEEMSC for services for my mare. The services were vaccines and a dental. I was very disappointed in their care. First, the vet, Dr. Raynor, contacted me independent of the office manager and attempted to schedule an appointment that the office manager and I had already talked extensively about (I have a limited availability due to my career and I schedule visits with the foresight to understand that I will end up waiting for longer periods due to that limitation). Both the office manager, and the veterinarian, were not kind to one another, i.e., Shannon was obviously exasperated by Dr. Raynor and Dr. Raynor was not happy with the scheduling. Dr. Raynor insisted that a vet tech be available to hold my mare the first time she worked with her, which I understand and appreciate. When they arrived at my home, Dr. Raynor did not lay a hand on my mare until she started attempting to sedate; the vet tech was asked to perform the evaluation. Again, this may be reasonable depending on the experience of the vet tech but it is uncommon for me to work with vets that do not want to perform the first exam, especially one prior to sedation. I warned them that my mare did not like needles and I attempted to provide pointers on how to handle but was met with dismissive condescension. I then watched as the vet tech and the vet proceeded to hit, poke, and wrap a lead rope around my mares face. I attempted to explain that she has been twitched extensively (this is based on significant scarring around her ears) and that these methods were only going to send her over threshold. Instead of working with my pointers, the vet began to lecture me on the importance of training horses and preparing them for needles (but then stated that it was not "needle phobia" that caused the behavior - but then also provided not insight as to what she felt was the root cause - probable because she spent all of 10 minutes with my mare and really couldn't provide that insight). In addition to the above concerns, Dr. Raynor was impatient with my request for a Lyme vaccine request. When I asked her what downsides there were to actually vaccinating, she attempted to lecture me about needles and "every time we use a needle" we are compromising the horse (she didn't really provide a more elaborate explanation, not because she didn't have one but because she simply didn't want to take the time). She eventually compromised with me when I said we could do a Lyme titer (this was something that I have been meaning to get done for a while and did not have the opportunity to do so). Finally, she sedated my horse so thoroughly that I had to closely monitor Luna for 2.5 hours after a dental procedure. She also jetted off after telling me "don't let her fall, she'll get really hurt." How is one person supposed to prevent a 1200lb animal from falling over after a vet has given her enough sedation to make that a possibility? I have worked for years with Luna on her head shyness and I have never had her rearing. Yet, in what amounted to be a 30 minute visit, Luna was popping up on, and nearly fully reared. The vet tech attempted to wrap a lead rope around her nose for "leverage." What leverage can one truly get over a 1200lb animal with a lead rope around their nose? Leverage through pain, that's how. I told them that the tighter that they went the more reactive she would be. They basically disregarded me. I want to point out that Luna has had at least 5 visits with previous vets in the 3 years that I have owned her, in those visits she has been vaccinated, examined, her teeth have been filed, she has had x-rays done, as well as sedation twice, and she has had blood drawn. In each of those visits, she has never reared, I have never seen a vet or their assistant attempt to hit her, poke her, or restrain her using a lead rope. The vets and their assistants have allowed me to help and have followed my advice on handling her. In each of those visits, we have all been safe.

BEWARE!!! BAD MEDICAL PRACTICE. I already have reviewed once about how HORRIBLE the treatment is. Because they replied back stating they could not see they provided service under my name here to clarify I was writing a review on behave of my mom’s horse and her experience recently there. PLEASE BEWARE. Their medical practice almost killed my moms horse, action should be take against them. People would be horrified at the pictures, and events that took place here. This place is a horse owners WORST NIGHTMARE.

I switched to New England Equine a few years ago for my gelding who has a variety of issues that have popped up over the years-fusing hocks, a bone spur in his neck, navicular, headshakers etc. Additionally, he is incredibly sensitive and can be difficult for things like palpating or nerve blocking. NEEMSC has always been very prompt with scheduling appointments for him when every strange issue has shown up, and they've gotten to know him very well and handle him extraordinarily well. When I began the search for my next horse in Aiken, I even waited until Dr. Raynor was going to be down south so I could use her to do my PPE!

HORRIBLE. Would never ever recommend. Terrible experience, took a horse in for treatment and left with him 10 times worse and had to emergency transport to another hospital. Vets were not honest and communication was questionable. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. PLEASE DONT GO THERE. Have been in the horse world for many years with a lot of connections and after what happened many friends said they also had bad experiences and would never go there.
