I moved across the country and have been trying to transfer the funds in my Citizens account to my new, local bank after my Citizens debit card somehow broke and just atopped working. It has been almost a week of phones not getting picked up, the mobile app not recognizing a VALID account number for a wire transfer, and their online banking website telling me that an online wire transfer will, for some reason, take 6 DAYS to complete. this branch doesn't answer the phone. EVER. i have spent up to 3 hours calling, letting it ring until it hangs up, and repeating kver and over again. Their customer service lines are all run by foreign call centers that just read off a script and offer no help.AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS!

Apparently appointments are required on Saturdays, even if there are employees available to help you.

My ordeal occurred in Dec 2022.Round 1: I open a Citizens personal checking account. I cannot use online banking so visit the branch, and am told Citizens opened a business account in my name without my consent. Citizens claims that was from HSBC which they acquired. I continue to be without online banking.Round 2: I visit the branch with my SS card to prove identity, and request the business account be closed. Manager Kristy Baillargeon helps me create a new online profile and proves it works. The same profile stops working the day after.Round 3: I visit the branch again to resolve online profile. Teller Lydia Brecheen helps me look up my profile, and confirms that my profile does not exist on their system either by name, social, or address. She sets up an appointment for me with Manager the following day.Round 4: Manager Kristy Baillargeon confirms that the back office deleted my profile she helped me create, and that my debit card continues to belong to the business account. I request closure of my account which is denied. I manage to withdraw my available cash from my account. My take-away: if you start doing business with Citizens (even though the branch staff try their best to help), if there is an issue you will never get it resolved and will be saddled with it. I hope this detailed post can save some of you from getting mired like I am.

What kind of hours are these? Do you want customers? 9-4 all week is ignorant, and 9-12 on Saturday is ridiculous. You wouldve had my business if I could get in the building. No chance now.

Not happy about the hours. I work until 5pm with a stroke patient and can not leave him. I needed to get a bank check for a deposit down on a car. I can't do that now. NOT HAPPY AT ALL. YOU NEED TO EXTEND YOUR HOURS FOR PEOPLE WHO WORK OUTSIDE OF THE HOME! THANK YOU! Been a customer for over 20 yrs and unfortunately thinking of switching banks.

Hours have changed to close around 4 Monday through Friday. Not very happy about that. It used to be 5 or 6pm. Other than that, good services

ATM's are always broken. 1/2 the time they won't accept any check deposits, and sometimes cash deposits don't work either.

I had a slight error with my checking account, roughly $30 of overdraft. At first, the error was mine, I'll admit, so I go out of my way to this location with $50 in cash to rectify the situation. Simple enough, and any reasonable person would agree that I was being responsible in fixing the problem. I arrive at this location, and I find that I am $175 dollars in debt, due to overdraft fees and other fees that can only be described as labyrinthine. Naturally, I was a bit confused, since I had already communicated via email the issue at hand and I was told that the fees were an error on their end, and that it would be resolved shortly. The second mistake I made was turning in the money first, so now I was "only" $125 in debt I try to explain to the teller what exactly was going on, and all he did was google it. I repeat, he GOOGLED it. If it were really that simple, I would have already done it, but as it was, there was no relevant information, no helpful advice, and absolutely no courteous human interaction on their end, not even a decent handshake. I never did get my money back, and my credit score has suffered because the people I trusted with my money were the kind of people that you should never trust with money. That's $225 you stole from me, "Citizens" Bank, and I want what is rightfully mine returned to me at once.
