I came here one summer while camping near by, exploring town me and my group walked in here just browsing and the atmosphere is very pleasant! I bought a key chain and I’m definitely coming back next time I got to NH!

A rude lady working accused my 10 year old son of stealing because he had put a toy in his hoodie pouch because he had no hands and was walking over to me. The lady followed him and said to me, “I caught your son stealing.” when he was just trying to carry stuff over to me. He started to cry of embarrassment and we dropped the stuff we had and left. The lady was super rude and could’ve just watched and if he didn’t take it out of his pocket then she could’ve came over to me and say, politely. “Hi, can you make sure he takes out the stuff in his pocket before you pay?” and I would’ve understood but since she just accused him, a 10 year old KID, I was furious. I really hope she looses her job after what she had done to a CHILD.

The staff were downright awful. Don't waste your time. You can find better stuff at any other store. A lady that gave a review on yelp got a very rude response from the owner. I will not be walking in that store ever again when I'm in town.

Don't waste your time. The cool stuff they sell is completely overshadowed by the rude staff. It ruins the customers experience when the staff is crass, unhelpful and downright ignorant. Clearly they have no training or people skills. Go to Toy Chest or ANY of the other stores where they employ kind humans. Response to your childish response: That girl was not even close to polite. She embarrassed him. She did NOT offer him a basket. She offered me one after I snapped back at her for implying he was stealing. If you were a small business and cared about your customers you would have written back sorry you feel that way. Using capital letters is childish and just proves my point that you employ rude people. As for your "camera footage" he was in my sight the entire time and if there is voice recording on your camera you would hear the unprofessionalism that we were treated with. Also voicing my concerns for others to hear about is not a cause to ban me from the store. Another childish response. Grow up. **Again. Childish. Still waiting to talk to an adult with people skills. You are running a business and this is what you choose to do??? Good lord. My name is at the top. I never hid anything. You have anything else to say? Because you really should use this free time educating your employees and also yourself on how to be a human being.**

This store is very unique with a variety of snacks, skincare, toys, purses, jewelry, wine, books, etc. It's almost like a homey version of 5 Below. I would definitely come here and go in the back (if you're 18+) to the Rated R section that have some profanity themed gifts

Every time I go to North Conway I need to go into this store. First of all, it is super attractive from the outside with all its goodies. Such an amazing little gift shop defiantly check it out.

We have been visiting the Penguin store since 1985. They have a huge collection of different items and always stock the latest fad items as well. We have purchased unique jewelry, cards, statuettes and other uniques gift items for birthdays and Christmas. The store is downtown and very convenient for coffee or ice cream or just a stroll through town

I could spend a small fortune in this store. A little of everything for anyone of any age.Very unique gift ideas. Great place to stock up in advance for those special gifts. And it supports a local business.

A quaint gift shop with something for everyone. Yes, there is an adult section but out in the back of the store. (Don't go there if it offends you) The Penguin has a great assortment of unique souvenirs and gifts. Look for their discount section, great buys. Super friendly staff. A great place to bring back memories of New Hamshire.
