I am all for supporting local businesses. However, I was very surprised that the tiny cupcake I purchased ended up costing $5.75!!! It was nothing special - just yellow cake, frosting and a half of a (stale) Oreo. Wow! That's steep. Steer clear of the baked goods unless you are on a vacation budget.

I love to support local, and this Bakery and mercantile makes it easy to rally around. The owner is wicked friendly and the bakery is a treat.I can't wait to go see what they have every Saturday. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

Saw the Maple Street Mercantile on IG, I am not terribly close, but let me tell you this was worth the drive!Contoocook has out done themselves with a quaint Main Street type shopping atmosphere!This store could not be more esthetically pleasing to enter! Immediately I was immersed with thoughts of spring, if I could live there I would.A beautiful renovation was done to this building, taking the time and care it deserved to really make it shine and still stay true to its original characteristics.We found everything from fresh tulips, to kitchen utensils, wall decor, cutlery, spring decor, aprons, sourdough starter and the list goes on.The mother daughter duo running the shop were a breathe of fresh air! They were very friendly and enjoyed every item in the shop as much as we did!We definitely be coming back!

This shop is beautiful! I wish I could live there- everything was so thoughtfully curated together and individually as well. There is a great range of price points, too! One of the owners, Meredith, was such a joy to chat with when I came in for a gift for my mother-in-law. I’ll definitely be returning!
