Worst experience of my life, unless its winter your better of homeless. The shelter and free food isn't enough to deliver peace, bliss or an opportunity. If your not apart of the cool kids circle staff don't like you. If you meet Bob fair warning his nice approach is fake to say the least. If you meet Kathy she will smile and says she loves you than run and write you up for breathing. If you meet the director good luck she will smile and kick you out. I have a Brain injury, I have birth defects that cause me to limp and I wasn't aloud to use the ramp. I had a top bunk and I got kicked out after less than a month for owing program fees after explaining there's a buy week when you get a new job. I even volunteering at the salvation army store and did an extra chore but it didn't matter. If you go there and do nothing with your life but make friends they'll love you I promise. The place is awful though people piss on the floor just a heads up.

I lived at the McKenna house for 6 months. It was my first time being homeless and in a shelter. It was the worst experience I had one of the staff named Kathy or she did was pick at me and she lied on me and when I went to the director each time and proved that she lied all She told me to just let it go They kicked me out a week ago. Because I parked my car. In the turn about that's not a part of their property that's not their property. Our friends and family can park there. The public can park there, but just because we live at the McKenna house. We cannot, they kicked me all over it. Even though 4 other people was parked there including myself. I was the only one got written up for it. And kicked outford number Kent house. It's all about favoritism and who they like as a person This is not a christian base program

The McKenna House is ran by the Salvation Army, a religious organization.Depend on religion and get sent packing with it crammed down your throat, stand up to it and get told adios...Welcome to the Salvation Army, come in on vacation, leave on probation and come back on violation.LolThey help nobody. The fools that run it help themselves...To a cadillac. On the backs of the homeless.

This is a great place if you find yourself homeless. Being homelss due to domestic violence is traumatic for sure, this house is very helpful if you find yourself going thru a hard time in life. Don't go through it alone. Everyone hits hard times sometimes

A real life saver to say the least! Brought me back in to the world of the living. At a time when homelessness is an epidemic from Maine to California, everyone should count their blessings that the McKenna House program exists. Truly don't know where Iwould be without it. Thank you Salvation Army! Thank you Jenny!
