We have 2 dogs and both were rescued from Darbster Doggy! My fiancé rescued our 9-year-old black lab mix as a puppy (before we met) and we just recently rescued an almost 2-year-old Belgian Malinois mix!We could not be happier with both of our pups and how well they fit into our lives. The employees at Darbster were very good about making sure we were fully informed on the Belgian Malinois mix and all that comes with the breed so we were confident we knew what to expect and could give her all the love and training she could need!If you are ever thinking of getting a pup definitely check out Darbster Doggy!

Visited Darbster on a whim and met the sweetest boy, Roger. Fell in love on the first day and brought him home a week later. Darbster approved me quickly and followed up with as well. They’re all extremely nice and excited for us. Thank you so much.

So, this isn't a customer complaint. This is a review from a past employee. BEWARE OF THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!!!!! I worked for this company for 2 months and the first bi-weekly paycheck was 1 full week late! Definitely not acceptable! My 2nd paycheck time came around time to get and due to 1 manager dealing with 3 stores at one time. That paycheck ended up getting to the store 4 days late! Then, I was finally asked for my direct deposit around week number 5 of working there. So now it's the 8th of March 2024, I received my 3rd paycheck and not only was it short in pay amount, I expect to get paid 2 weeks from there since the pay was supposed to be for the 19th to the 4th, and now I'm being told I have to wait until the 22nd of this month. Thats 3 weeks of no pay. So, I go to the manager and the owner and ask if they can explain it to me because I was genuinely confused. Their only response I get is "its bi-weekly pay". so unless im dumb, If i got paid on the 8th for feb 19th to March 4th, that means they were either very late with that recent paycheck, or they are blaming the direct deposit taking too long and making me wait 3 weeks to get paid full time, UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My little brother & I stopped by Darbster today with some donation items we picked up. We had to put our family dog, Cash, down yesterday & we are just completely shattered. I wanted to donate to a local dog shelter, & try to make something good from a hard situation. The staff was kind enough to give us an opportunity to have some play time with one of their puppies, & it really put a smile on our faces. We loved Ruby, & we know she will find a loving family soon!❤️

My pup is super anxious and the staff here do a great job with him. They also send daily reports which are great when I'm away from my pup.The only issues I've had are making sure he gets some treats that I send him in with, but I found out they have other treats for him, so I just skip that now!

I have learned more about this so called rescue Staff knows nothing about the dogs. We were told penny was 3 months but all her puppy teeth were gone and she looked much more. Like she was 9.months Took her to vet and my vet agreed which really pissed darbster off because that vet treats their dogs. They don't care about the dogs health Refused to fix Penny's cherry eye. It can end up being a very painful condition as the dog gets older. They also. Told us we had to pay for her to be spayed. Penny had massive prey drive. I don't believe every dog needs a fenced in yard but penny absolutely did. They knew we live out in the country with no fance, tons of chipmunks squirrels and rabbits. They gave us a martingale collar for her but 3 times she escaped from it and ran into the woods. I can't express the horrible feeling I had when that happened. I tried to find a better rescue to take her and I would foster her until the right home was found but no rescue would take a 9 month old female not spayed with cherry eye. It broke my dad's heart to have to return her but it was the only thing we could do. If she escaped and got lost on the 100+ acres or worse caught by a coyote, id never forgive myself. She's still there. Her name isn't Penny.. that's what we named her. I feel so sick that almost a year later they haven't fixed her eye and haven't worked. With her to make her adoptable. I so wish we could have fenced in an acre of our land for her but it was almost overload when I took her outside and she was terrified. They keep their dogs in some rough looking kennels and enclosures, they don't bother to try to teach basic commands, they don't provide good quality vet care, they don't do due diligence when placing a dog in a home. I hate to say don't support a dog rescue but I'm going to say do your homework if you're adopting from darbster or donating to them. There are MUCH BETTER MORE REPUTABLE rescues around.. yes they have adorable dogs that melt your heart but if people keep adopting from them nothing will ever change. I went to add to our family and instead it lead to horrible heartbreak. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND THINK TWICE BEFORE BECOMING INVOLVED WITH DARBSTER. THEY ARE SHADY AND NOT AT ALL TRUSTWORTHY! HELL EVEN GHE THE VET THAT TREATS THEIR DOGS SAID HER CHERRY EYE NEEDED TO BE OPERATED ON AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO YOU KNOW SHE SAID THAT TO DARBSTER WHO CHOSE TO IGNORE THE VETS DIRECTION! IF THAT HAPPENED TO US IMAGINE WHAT OTHER AILMENTS DARBSTER IS ALLOWING FOGS TO BE ADOPTED OUT WITH!

I spent the day at Darbster Doggy volunteering and I was extremely impressed. The animals are well taken care of and the kennels were extremely clean. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they do and really care for the animals! I will definitely be going to Darbster Doggy when I am ready to adopt my next dog.

I have been a long time customer of Darbster Doggy (almost 4 years at the time of this review). In May of 2020, right after the start of the pandemic, my husband and I really wanted to adopt a dog. (We were dog owners before, and it took many years after she passed away for us to be ready). However, due to the pandemic, the wait lists for places and the process to adopt was quite lengthy. We stayed the course, and one of the places we applied to adopt from was Darbster since they actually let you MEET the dogs before adopting (almost all the places we'd been applying to were asking people to adopt sight unseen - based on photos only, which is crazy)! I met a few dogs, but once I met one I wanted to adopt, they told me I couldn't take the dog home with me unless my husband was also present. (Would have been good to know beforehand). We lost that dog to someone else who came in after me, however; they made it up to us by giving us a preview of the next new dogs available for adoption that might be a fit, and we also got first crack at meeting the dogs. The photo of our Mazzy was truly love at first sight.. she had such bright eyes and looked like such a lovebug. We met her and adopted her same day. She was overall healthy (was just ending a bout of kennel cough) and was spayed, etc. She was not housebroken or leash trained, and they did share that she had accidents in her kennel and that shouldn't wear a harness or collar while crated. Since adopting Mazzy over 3 years ago, we've also entrusted Darbster with boarding several times. In the fall when we went to Japan for 2 weeks, she did lose a bit of weight, but that's common for her. (She really doesn't eat much when we are gone, even if she's at home). We trust Darbster with Mazzy and we are so grateful that they rescued her and we got to adopt her!
