Patiently waiting for the official “Ice Out” day so she can cruise again, the M/S Mount Washington stays at its winter home at the port in Center Harbor. As seen here, the Bubblers located in the water around the vessel prevents water from freezing and protects it from ice damage. The original Mount Washington was destroyed in a fire in December 1939. The second was launched in August 1940 and over the years has had several physical changes, including replacing steam engines with diesel engines. The vessel has a capacity of 1200+ passengers.
