Would leave 0 stars if possible. Need a New Hampshire ID or they won’t sell to you. Making up their own laws as they see fit. Definitely woman owned. Staff was polite at least

The absolute premier shop in the area. Personal service. Expert opinions. Even the owner is willing to meet with you and share his experience when he's in the location.

Went in to browse and found a fine rifle to inspect and possibly purchase. The staff was willing and able to assist but offered really poor advice on the specific chambering. I noted the NATO 7.62 chambering on the barrel and remarked that I was looking for a 308. This is where the poor advice comes into play. They specifically told me I was fine to shoot 308 in the 7.62 chambering...can you? Yes. But it is NOT recommended. The casings have the same outer dimensions but the 308 has thinner inner dimensions allowing for more powder and hotter loads. You SHOULD NOT shoot 308 in the 7.62 NATO chambering. Anyone that tells you otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about-and that means you too old man who felt like you needed to open your trap. You absolutely can shoot the 7.62 NATO in the 308 since it's a smaller load with less pressure. Just not the other way around. This is different from the .223 and 5.56 NATO where you can shoot a .223 in a 5.56 but not a 5.56 in a .223

The store was clean, organized and inviting. They were well stocked with both firearms and ammo and the prices were very reasonable.I dealt with Chris L but there were 2 Chris's and they were both helpful, knowledgeable and not pushy.Would definitely recommend.

Quinn and Dana are the best. They are knowledgeable, professional and courteous.Dana took well over an hour to help my wife, newbie to shooting, pick out the correct personal firearm that she was comfortable and capable of carrying. What can I say about Quinn knowledgeable beyond his years. Plus he listens to my ramblings with a smile and courtesy.Because of these two Shooters Outpost in Amherst has become one of my go to spots.

I have been doing business here for almost two years. I could not disagree more with the previous post. The people at Shooters know the laws and are very knowledgeable. They have given me the attention I need whenever I am there to buy or just ask questions. No high pressure. I often will ask for a few days to look up the reviews and come back with questions. Not once in over two hundred trips there have I leftfrustrated or confused. Always leave knowing more then when I walked inI would guess I have bought 30 or 40 guns of one kind or another in that time. Please disregard the post before mine. This person obviously has a axe to grind. Go there and find out for yourself. Professional people who have a lot to offer in product and knowledge.

My review was originally one star. I have since upgraded it to four. Depending on the outcome of events, it may be further upgraded. ****Jim, the owner of shooters outpost took the extraordinary measure of calling me on my cell phone. We had an interesting conversation. I think the reply he posted here was in anger and I can forgive him for that since this was what he perceived as an attack on his livelihood, business that he and his family worked very hard to establish and maintain. I have worked in Law Enforcement for many years and we will discuss this issue in his response should I get to speak with him in the future and provide documentation to this fact for his edification if need be. I do not think he is motivated so much by the concept of protecting his brand as I do the fact that he has the burden of feeding his family, employing tens of people and meeting payroll to help his employees earn a living and provide the public with a quality place to acquire firearms and related items at reasonable costs. I do respect him for reaching out to me and trying to discuss the matter. I still differ with him in the fact that this policy was not brought to my attention at the point of sale. I hopefully will meet with him at some time in the future to discuss this issue as he had alluded. Jim went to great lengths to to explain his business policy and why it is the way it is. Like aviation safety or Maritime safety, firearms business retail policy is written in blood and he drove that point home very well. He is also in a heavily - federally regulated business and I see his concerns in this politically charged season. Again I wish to thank him for his effort to reach out to me. It remains to be seen, if I will be a repeat customer. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Jim the the staff at Shooter's Outpost.***

My first visit today, and I was treated like a dignitary. One of the associates, Matt, answered my questions and helped me implement a plan to purchase a new weapon. It is always a pleasure to work with consummate professionals !

Unlike some other retailers in NH, they will not sell " high capacity" magazines if you're from out of state. Their ammo prices are expensive, and the staff wasn't very friendly.

Not very impressed. Very, very small. Didn't have my ammo and had little selection of most stuff. Nothing like the Hooksett branch. I honestly wouldn't waste my time stopping here, just keep trucking on over to Hooksett up 101. The guy at the counter couldn't give two hoots about customer service. I saw a Sig Exeter in a case (which was half empty) and asked him what it was. "It's a Sig with some custom stuff". Wow. That's helpful. Cleared it right up for me. So I ask "Like a Legion?". And he responds: "No." That's it. No more info. You might have had a sale bub. All you needed to do was act like your job description says you're supposed to act. You would think that they would try harder since they're a smaller shop. Very disappointed because I work just down the road. So I guess I'll just have to detour to Hooksett on the way home when I need to pick up some necessities.

Top staff, selection and knowledge around. As a fairly new customer, this is by far the most comfortable gun-shop for new owners, with a welcoming vibe and no sense of big-timing customers. Plenty of staff around every time I’ve come on to help if I need it. And, loads of selection on everything, even ammo (when in stock these days). Definitely worth the visit.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They do an excellent job of providing ammunition, when available, at what is now reasonable prices. Much less expensive than anything I’ve found online. They face the same challenges of supply as everyone else.Every time I’ve been to both locations the staff has been outstanding. Outgoing and friendly! Nice job.

This store is an excellent experience for all people of different knowledge levels. The staff is well educated and kind, patient and willing to assist. Chris and the Manager have helped me since day one, and I will drive out of my way to visit this store for any assistance.Great job, gentlemen!
