Worst place in town to bring your car. Neighbors dislike the owner, and tow trucks won’t bring your car here… says a lot when others in the industry don’t want to do business with you

My husband and I are from Ontario and we were in St Andrews-by- the-Sea when the rear brake calipers seized on our car. It was about 2:00 on a Friday afternoon. No one local would look at the car for about a week. My husband looked online and found Ace Automotive. He contacted them and after a couple of pieces of advice that did not solve the problem, Peter suggested we get the car towed to their newly opened Hanwell Road location. It took longer than expected and we arrived at their normal closing time. However, they stayed open an hour after their normal closing time to complete the replacement of the calipers. We were able to carry on our way and begin our return trip home the next day.
We cannot say enough good things about the service we received and if we lived in the area they would be our go to mechanic.

Peter was very helpful when I brought a car in to be inspected before I decided to purchase it.
Unbiased and honest as to what was wrong with it. I ended up with a different car in the end but he will be my new mechanic going forward :)

I told them my brakes were overheating, so they replaced the front caliper for $300 and said it was fixed. A week later, the brakes overheated again. When I went back, the owner admitted it wasn’t the caliper but the brake hose, and asked for another $300 to fix it. I went elsewhere and found out what was really wrong.
Their mistake caused further damage, costing me $800 to fix. They don’t listen and assume customers are clueless. Avoid this place—they don’t know what they’re doing.

Would not recommend. Brought my car in for a squeaking sound when braking, was told it was because I needed new brakes, rotors, and a control arm. Paid $1250 and upon picking up the car the noise was still there. Brought it back in the next day, got multiple mixed answers from the receptionist (who was lovely and personal, but unfortunately very unhelpful), told me she “doesn’t know anything about cars and couldn’t remember what the technician said”. Went back to pick up the car and was told the noise should be gone but now I needed a new brake servo. Left with the car, noise still there. The next day receptionist called to tell me she couldn’t find brake servos in stock. I expressed my concern with paying over $1200 and not having the problem solved so she advised me to call Peter. Peter told me the noise was due to needing a brake servo which was very expensive and that I should “sell the car to the first buyer”. Today I took my car to a different garage for a second opinion. They advised me that the technician at Ace didn’t use any lubricant when installing the new brakes. Luckily they took my car in, cleaned the pins and added lubricant, and the sound is now gone. In total I have now spent almost $1450 and a week of my time after dealing with this garage. My only kudos is thanks to Krystal for trying to help, I know you’re new, there was just a major lack of communication between the front and back end.

My wife and I are currently exploring the stunning province of New Brunswick, but our adventure hit a complication when our car started squeaking like a mouse. Stranded in Fredericton, we called every mechanic in town, only to find that none of them had time for us —except for Ace Automotive. The owner, Peter, kindly squeezed us into his busy schedule and directed us to one of his garages.
The mechanics there swiftly diagnosed the problem and identified the faulty part. Peter, displaying remarkable dedication, called all around town to locate a replacement. We've got a follow-up appointment tomorrow morning to get the new part installed.

Peter told us that he’s in the business of ‘helping people,’ and he’s certainly a man of his word.
Unfortunately, the new part didn’t fix the problem. But the mechanic didn’t give up; they suspected an air leak might be causing the strange sound. Peter brought over an extra device to visualize any potential leaks… but found nothing. At this point, I was wondering what color my new car should be.
A few minutes later, Peter joined us with a stern look on his face, only to announce that the issue was fixed—a simple problem with an unplugged plug on the motor.
Compared to other garages, where this could have cost me a fortune, Peter charged us a ridiculously low amount. He went out of his way to resolve our issue and kept us informed throughout the process. I’m truly grateful for his dedication and exceptional service!
And with that, we turned the page on another unforgettable chapter of our journey in the beautiful province of New Brunswick? ❤️

This place's service is just terrible and such a joke. I bring my car in to fix the and pay for it (2750 dollars 1750 parts and 1000 labour cost). At first, Peter told me my car would be done on Friday. On Friday at the end of the day still no call and reply to let me know it wasn't fixed. I called and they told me it would be done next week on Monday. On Monday I called and it was still not done, then he told me it would be ready on Wednesday or Thursday. I called back on Tuesday to double check and they still have no idea about my car and told me it will be done on Thursday night. On Thursday night I called and then Peter told me to pick it up Friday morning. I told him he couldn't do that with me, it was such a waste of time for me, and keep delaying fixing my car and not even give me a single notice about it. What he said next is shocking to me. Peter told me it was not his fault and started blaming me for many reasons, In the end, he yelled at me telling me to get my car and money back but not even giving me a clue which location he left my car. Blaming customers, not even apologizing, is this a joke. On the day I picked up my car back because it's not fixed. I want my full money back and the car but he's not gave me fully amount of money back and even threatening me If I'm not taking my car away out of his garage he will tow it away and scratch it into pieces. Get away from this place please and be careful.

I was really impressed with the professionalism shown by Ace Automotive. During a weekend trip to Fredericton, my car suddenly needed an emergency alignment prior to driving back home (over 1000 km). The staff were able to address my problem quickly and didn't charge me very much for the job. Thanks so much!!
