145 C St, Virginia CityI've visited countless ice cream shops, but this place offers the largest portions I've ever seen. Just take a look at the picture! I tried the blueberry, butter pecan, and espresso, and they were spectacular. I shared them with my friends, and they loved them too. Don't be shy--try a sample. The staff is super friendly, and if I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back.

Firehouse Bar-B-Que
145 C St, Virginia CityWe went to the ice cream parlor (we didn't have lunch food). The gentleman working the ice cream shop was so nice!!! He was awesome. Friendly and helpful. Rare to find someone that seems to enjoy their job. The ice cream prices were reasonable and all the flavors we ordered were delicious. There is indoor and outdoor seating that was really nice. I would definitely recommend this place!

Mark Twain Saloon
62 S C St, Virginia CityHad a great time here. The bartender heckled us to come in off the street and she was totally right. We ordered food from the snack bar next door and the woman running it was a dream. Seriously the sweetest person ever. Service was top notch and she made us feel like we were at home. Plus we got free fresh baked cookies with our order! Who doesn’t love that?!?!
After a long ride, we were craving a beer at the bar so we got the same person that heckled us in the first place. The bartender was super fun, made us feel very welcome, and had a great attitude (plus she’s pretty easy on the eyes too)! Word of caution: she might know more about trucks than you do.
Would give an extra star if I could!

Gold Hill Hotel and Crown Point Restaurant
1540 S Main St, Virginia CityStop thinking about it, and just go have an evening at this restaurant, and stay overnight if you have the time. They have a whole calendar of unique events. I made a huge mistake and booked the wrong week for one of their dinner and history talks, and they could not have been more kind and gracious about it. They found us a table right away, and we had a great spot in the front room to hear the history lecture. It's not easy for a small restaurant when a guest makes this kind of mistake, and I felt terrible about it, but they made sure we had a great time anyway. Every course of the dinner was fantastic! Don't skip dessert here. Just go. Do something different, drive up to Virginia City, take your critics hat off regarding posting reviews, and have a good time and good food with good people in a beautiful Nevada historical setting. The bar is gorgeous too!
