One of the best experiences in any hotel
One of the best experiences in any hotel/resort. The service was absolutely outstanding. If we needed sheets, they'd promptly bring it to us After hours, security would bring us items. Every employee had smiles and greeted us. Amazing amenities like a full gym, steam, clean locker rooms, indoor outdoor tennis, indoor volleyball and much much more. The actual suites were very spacious and comfortable even though it really needs updating.
Overall a very positive stay.

We've been long-time owners and love coming to spend our week here. We were owners before Holiday Inn Club took over. It's a point system time share now. We're deeded and won't ever go to points. So many things to do here and never have to leave.
Nearby activities: Lake Tahoe and the Casinos. Or drop down the back side to the Carson Valley

The Ridge is our home away from home. We love it there. The staff is so friendly and approachable and love good conversation. The facilities are always very clean and if we ever need anything, someone is willing to help in an instant.
Rooms: Very clean and organized.
Food and drinks: The Bear Trap Lounge has great food and drinks.

It’s strange that the rooms in this resort don’t have A/C. No biggie in the cool months, but hard to enjoy when it’s hot out

High mountain resort. Swimming pools. Well maintained. Close to hiking. A free shuttle to downtown.

Come here every year.
Pools are heated. Generally a quiet but busy place.
Rooms: They are warm. The windows (that you can open) are pretty small. But for viewing they are generous.
Nearby activities: Lots to do.
I like the hiking trails and swimming. Pools are heated.
Walkability: Hills. Lots of them.

Rooms: We had the one bedroom king villa with a beautiful view of Carson City. It was clean, cozy, and felt like a home away from home.
Nearby activities: Close to downtown, beaches, parks, etc. but also has a lot of amenities on site to keep the family entertained.
Safety: Felt safe, everyone was nice, it was well lit at night. It's very family friendly.

It was our first and last time here. We made a reservation for 2 days with my family due to labor day. We stayed in block 11 and my daughter cut her eye on the sharp corner of the table. The tables and chairs are not safe for children. When we were going to check out, they took an extra $90 tax from us. When I bought it with the intermediary company, they took it even though I said it was not written like that. I do not recommend it to families with children. We regretted going. They charged $1100 for 2 days and we were practically ripped off.

This hotel offers a decent family-friendly experience with plenty of recreational options like indoor and outdoor swimming and other outdoor games. However, I'm giving it a 2-star rating due to a disappointing check-in experience.
As the property is located in the mountains, I was hoping for a room with a better view. I specifically booked my stay starting from Friday of Labor Day weekend to avoid the Saturday rush. When I arrived late on Friday, I noticed that other guests were being offered rooms with great views—some were even told they had top-floor rooms with excellent views by the lady on the counter.
However, I was not given the same consideration, even though I had booked the highest available room category for a two-bedroom villa. As an Indian origin guest, I felt discriminated against, which left a bitter taste despite the otherwise decent facilities. I won't be booking here again due to this experience. I would urge Hyatt to train their receptionist staff for more inclusive behavior in future.

Ok so, the best time to come is in winter if you are an avid skier. Summer is not the time to visit this place. I have never stayed at a hotel in California or Nevada that did not have air conditioning. If the hotel has enough swamp coolers they will give you one. Keep in mind though that you have to fill it with ice every 5 minutes as it quickly will run through it and then make the room like a wet hot sauna. This place is spectacular in winter but summer is a no go. I will say that the hotel is very clean. Kudos for that! Also, the first swamp cooler didn't work so we snooped and found another one along with a fan. The swamp.cooler worked every 5 minutes but the fan didn't. So we snooped again and found another fan that worked.

First time, here. The resort has awesome views and sits on top of a mountain. The staff was friendly. The resort was clean. The resort had a calendar activities for all ages. We spent each day off the resort. A lot of the tourist destinations were at least an hour away. I am referring to the destinations that we wanted to see.
I have seen comments about the lack of air conditioning. There is no AC. The temps were in the high 80's in the day and low 50's at night. We opened windows and turned on the fan and the rooms got too cold for me. So, the lack of AC was not an issue.
Nearby activities: Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Virginia City, Reno
Safety: We are owners at Holiday Inn Club. Every property is safe, and that is a main reason we bought in.

Advertising is a lie. Tell people you dont have air conditioning before they book and no longer serve breakfast. Be honest about TV only being the size of a PC screen. Hire more people for check in and have normal check out hours… total rip off. If I could have gotten another hotel so late I would have……shame on you! Vacationer beware with automated responses not a real person with accountability. Zero stars…

Then even convention here for the ridge and the Holiday inn club vacations is a bit confusing because it overlaps.
Nevertheless the rooms here are awesome The view is spectacular.
You can see another post based on the ridge at lake Tahoe.

Rooms: This is the first place that I have been that did not have air conditioning and the temps were high 30 to low 40. Only one small window that opened 6 in. and no air movement.
