I cannot recommend a business that repeatedly keeps you on hold for 10-15 minutes, or more, when you need to speak with a customer representative. They simply don't know how to, or don't want to, answer their phones. They are not doing us any favors by having us open accounts at their business, and yet they seem to treat customers, and others, like you have nothing else to do all day except wait on line listening to GNCU tell you that "All of our representatives are busy helping other customers...." Maybe they should hire some more people to answer their phones. Based upon the wait, "all of our customer representatives...." may be only two or three. If GNCU doesn't care enough about me to pick up the #$%^& telephone, then I don't care enough to keep my money there, and to do business with them. Credit unions are all over the place and it's not like they pay any more interest than anyone else. As a (retired) professional for fifty years, who has done business with financial institutions on a regular basis, I can say unequivocally that if this was how the banks and credit union we dealt with treated me, I'd have pulled our accounts from that institution in a heartbeat. Choosing this institution was the biggest mistake I’ve made by far. Their customer service to their members is terrible. They have no retention desire for their members. They just want your money and the way they are set up they are at liberty to take it. Read carefully before you sign up for account with GNCU.

I am a customer of greater Nevada credit union and I needed some documents notarized. I made an appointment went in. I did not fill out anything until I was in front of the notary and she let me know what to put on the form. Unfortunately, when I emailed it was wrong. So I went into the branch today and a lady came up to me and asked me what I needed and I said that this form was filled out wrong. Not realizing that she was the one that notarized it so she called me up to her counter and I explain that the person that notarized it had me fill it out wrong . She got really mad and said it was her and that she never never would’ve done that and that I’m accusing her of fraud which was absolutely not my intention. Donna is very unprofessional. I work at Advance America as a manager and would never let any of my employees talk that way. I did speak to the manager of that branch and she was very polite so I appreciated her. I did leave pretty upset though just not a good experience

Chris Gray was friendly, yet professional. He was very helpful in assisting me update my account. The kind of treatment I received from another bank that same day before I went to GNCU, was horrible. They weren't helpful and just didn't care but Chris Gray made up for it. I should move my other accounts to GNCU. Thank you Chris.

I attempted to call the fraud of greater Nevada credit union (GNCU) department on September 9th to report fraud on my account for 4 transactions of $1,000 each on the same day (august 29th) for a total of $4,000 fraud. When I called on this day during business hours there was no one in the fraud department to take the call so I was left to leave a voicemail. GNCU did not call me back until Tuesday September 13th. When I spoke with the GNCU's fraud customer service rep I disputed the charges and was told the charges would be recouped and placed back to my account within 5-7 business days. They shut down my card and did not offer to replace my debit card as most banks do (odd to me having had small fraud account activity while banking with other institutions). I have tried messaging (online messaging through my account portal), calling, and even going into the one of the branch offices and they all tell me to call the fraud department. When I explain I have left messages with no reply they said they (at the branch office of the bank) could not do anything. I called the 1-800 number for GNCU on September 17 and was told that they would have a special customer service rep contact me no later than Tuesday September 20th. I then left further messages after no one has called me back. I have received nothing in the mail (I even checked that they had the correct address when I went into the branch office they do) and here it is September 24th and they have still not replied, called me back or given my back the $4,000 that was fraudulently taken out of the account. I would like my money back, all $4,000, so I can place my money at a financial institution that protects my money AND has actual customer service that meets its customer's basic needs. An apology for all the stress this has caused me and my family would be nice too. - Disabled Army Veteran

It's Just as the reviews show. Crappy experiences with a scam bank that overloads you with fees. Then theyre unfriendly also........even management. So if you want a bank that treats you horrible, go here. This is ain't no credit union, this is a BANK.

Just another ? bank. High fees, unhonest employees, poor management. Think they should take their name off our ballpark so they can return that money to their customers.Customer service died in 2019 and now we have people that just get hired because they’re needed and not because they’re qualified. ?♂️

Sad to say, big fat fail for customer service to me. Not good because they were not professional or adequate with their customer service with me. Aww, Greater Nevada Credit Union. You currently have only 2 1/2 stars for your overall review at this branch -- so it wasn't just me you had a big fat fail with. Your other branch locations are just as dismal with their ratings. Greater Nevada Credit Union's customer service needs to be much much much better. There is only one boss. The customer. And he / she can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by putting his / her money somewhere else. I won't be back. p.s. I checked all the one and two-star previous reviews here of this business as Useful and Cool.

To say I was disappointed is putting it mildly. My husband and I wanted to get out of big commercial banks and go with a local credit union. This was around Sept. 2021, we had to make an appointment and wait to open an account. When we got to our appointment and got to the end the man helping us instantly made my husband the primary, helped him set up his online banking etc. When I asked for help to do mine, he said it doesn't really matter he is the primary member you can do it at home. I was pretty upset to be treated like a second class citizen. Especially because it was my large check we were using for that account. I swallowed my feelings. I am the one that handles all of our finances and the one who uses a computer. The next issues were trying to get money out of the account. The GNCU branch ATM denied me over and over. But when I went to our other bank with my GNCU card I could get any amount I needed. I was able to sign in a few times with my husbands info but then got locked out. 2 phone calls with tech support and still problems. We decided to close our accounts and drained the accounts. I knew one of us needed to close the account. I called the bank for help only to find out we now owed $170 and counting because we were being charged $10 a day for being overdrawn in addition to 3 $35 NSF fees for a transaction that was not authorised. I had used my card for a one time payment and a company decided they could use it again. The only way to close the account was to go to a branch, pay the fees to a zero balance then close. The agent did waive some of the fees down to $90. Finally I made it to the branch, opening at 10 am makes it extra hard to fit into my schedule. I gave the agent $100 bill and she deposited into the account and then proceeded to tell me I couldn't close it because I was not primary on the account, that only my husband could do it. When he finally got to a branch close it we had another $100 in fee's because they charged us a $4 service fee that made the account overdrawn. Any other bank I have been with would have refunded all of the first fee's and closed my account.

I've had no issues whatsoever with this bank. I have checking and savings with them and have had no issues so far in the little over a year with them.

I purchased a car from someone that had bought the car with a loan through Greater Nevada Credit Union. I met the seller at the bank, paid off the loan, and provided them with my name and address. I was told I should receive the title in the mail in about a month. Its now been over 2 months and I still have not received the title. I was finally told by GNCU’s loan dept that they messed up when the loan was made and didn’t get the title signed by the previous owner and was waiting for them to contact the bank so they could have the title signed. Even though they had my contact information, GNCU never bothered inform me of the problem. The person handling the title stated that the mistake happened before she started in her position. In other words, it wasn't her fault so she wasn't going to try very hard to resolve it. Her resolution was to send out letters to the previous owners with addresses that were no longer valid and wait. What terrible service! Without the title, I am unable to register the car, Thanks to Greater Nevada Credit Union.
