Wanted to give you a big Thank You for your assistance and help in my recent attempt at a job search."Recently I was made aware of a career opportunity as a Senior Contracts Manager for a major corporation. This corporation holds major contracts globally throughout the Department of Defense enterprise. Since I had decided to 'retire' early over a year ago, I was a bit out of date with current resume trends; and definitely rusty at interviewing, as the last time I interviewed was some time ago.I had known about the Work for Warriors program, and the team; but had never contacted them about using their services. Seeing as I was a bit out of date, I decided to reach out to them and see what they could do.Using the on-line registration at the Work for Warriors Nevada website was easy and very straight forward. Questions were asked to build a profile of what you were looking for job wise, and what assistance you thought you needed. At the end, an email was received informing me that a Employment Coordinator would be reaching out to me shortly.The next day, I received an email from Mr. Baker, and was provided links for research and a request to contact him for setting up an appointment. Setting up the appointment for the next week, I got together my information, updated my existing resume and LinkedIn profile, per some of the suggestions I received from James.Upon meeting with Mr. James Baker, and Mr. Kevin Stein at the Reno office, I was greeted by two gentlemen who were both professional and friendly in their demeanor, and were obviously very knowledge and extremely talented at what they do. During the time there, I also met and conversed with several of the other clients who stopped by to give updates. You could tell that they were happy about the outcomes, and appreciated the services that had been provided; and also that real bonds had been created. James and Kevin have a knack of threading humorous comments and anecdotes throughout a conversation to keep the mood light, and to keep people smiling. Considering the jobs they do, and how people are typically nervous about writing or talking about themselves to strangers; this is an effective tactic to help people relax.We spent a couple hours creating a new resume for me, with a different format, and during that time, we discussed interviews, job market, and how the workplace has evolved over the past few years.Afterwards, James kept in contact with me as I went thru the application and interview process, asking questions, providing guidance, encouragement, maybe even a nudge or two. Additionally, he also identified another career opportunity that looked like a good fit for me, and forwarded it to me to look over.After a couple of interviews, and an offer letter was received, James listened to my thoughts and concerns about preparing a counter-offer letter. His advice was spot on, as the response had a 22% increase in starting salary!Can't give enough thanks and kudos to the team! Their efforts to assist and help fellow Veterans, Active Duty, National Guard, and their families is more than above the bar - they twist it, reshape it, and set-it up as high as they can go - and then proceed to jump over it - to prove that not only do they enjoy helping you, but they will go the extra mile to help you in achieving that employment or career goal that you have in mind."Thank you for all that you've done, do, and whatever you may do in helping others like me in the future.Regards,Curt Schermerhorn

If you are attempting a Federal job application, Work For Warriors is The place to go. Jay Baker in the Reno, NVlocation knows exactly how to do it. Mr. Sanchez and the rest of the office, were very helpful and knowledgeable. They helped me understand newer ways of resume creations, so as to create based on the job you're applying for.If it wasn't for the help of Mr. Sanchez, I feel like I would struggled more when it came to applying for my AGR job. (I'm not very good at talking myself up. Lol) I will definitely be using this program again, if or when I apply for other jobs in the future.Thank you Work for Warriors!!!!

I preferred W4W in job searching because the listings were local and relevant. I will utilize them again if my current employment doesn't become permanent. Looking forward to listing jobs with them for my current employer
