I have been coming to this vet for 7 years, since my two cats were kittens. They used to have a building just for cats and that is why I came here. Now they are in a building that has dogs and cats. We went last week and a dog was barking on the other side of the wall from the exam room my cats and I were waiting in. It barked for almost 20 minutes uninterrupted. I don’t understand why no one was doing anything but my cats were absolutely freaked out. It was a horrible experience for us all. On top of that our vet was late coming back from lunch and we waited for over 40 minutes, with the dog barking, my cats shaking and so scared. They tested a lump on my female cat’s abdomen and still haven’t contacted me with the results and I’m so stressed and upset. I have called many times with no answer. Anyways. Time to search for a new vet. If you have cats and want them to have a good vet experience, please think of going elsewhere.

I tried making an appointment and I told them I’d call them back due to finding out a perfect time, they hung up twice, another time when I called they said “again?” Quite disappointed in this when I was just trying to make a appointment for my cat.

Amazing, attentive, compassionate staff!
So grateful this is our place for any help we need for our sweet hairy baby. :)

The staff really cares about their patients and when we put down my cat they were so kind and never rushed us, letting us take our time with him.

This is my first ever cat, Miso! The animal medical center made everything very easy for me as a first time owner, and the prices for the services seemed reasonable.

While the vets themselves seem fine, I feel as though I have to say that the office staff was awful. From the front desk being terribly condescending to the follow up care, I would never recommend anyone go here, especially in those tender moments with a sick animal. I was told after my appointment that the staff would call me the next day to check on my dying pet. I received a text message asking if I had questions, but when I wrote back immediately with questions, they never responded. I finally called several hours later and they said they “were too busy to check the texts.” Why have that system then? I was told to wait a day and they’d call to check on us the following day, but I never heard from them. I tried to call back to see what next steps were for my ill cat and no one ever returned my voicemail. I ended up getting a second opinion somewhere else.I hope that this feedback reaches the vets or manager so that they can assess their system of communication

Way too expensive for the average person to take their pet.

I've taken my cat Luna into Reno Hospital for Cats for 4 years for annual checkups and vaccs, an upset tummy, and a scratched eye, and have never had any issues! I've always had a nice experience, never had to wait very long to be seen, my cat is handled gently, and everyone always tells Luna she is the most beautiful kitty (she is!) What more can you ask for in a vet?

THE SATFF IS AMAZING HERE I was thoroughly impressed with each person. Literally every single one and it stuck out to me in a good way. These people, mostly women from what I could tell, really, really like their job and make the experience for me and my cat a great one. I will be back most definitely. I take professional service very seriously, and these people were seriously great at being professional as well as super friendly! ? top notch service and a thanks from myself and my cat!

Took my cat because he was scratching himself to the point of leaving big wounds on himself, throwing up, dry heaving, and lethargic. the doctor barely even examined him, didn’t take his temperature, barely looked at his scabs, and pulls “it’s probably ringworm” our from literally nowhere. I’ve had ringworm myself, had cats that had ringworm, and it was clearly not ringworm. Wants to do a culture of the scab and test it for ringworm, which I decline. Take him to a new vet and they do a proper physical examination, give him a chest X-ray, and immediately come up with a more logical explanation; it’s all an allergic reaction to something in his diet. Most likely chicken/poultry. They give him a steroid shot to calm his lungs and help his dry heaving and also to help with the itching, then they recommend we find a good with absolutely no poultry products or by-products and switch him to that. BOOM! No more coughing, the scratching stopped, the wounds healed, the vomiting stopped. I feel that the vet here at Reno Cat Hospital was either being negligent and didn’t examine him well enough to make an informed decision, or was just straight up incompetent. Either way, don’t spend your money here. The other vet I went to was cheaper, more attentive, and actually on base with her diagnosis.

Best cat clinic in Reno. I have 4 cats. It can get really pricey come annual vaccination time or when any of them gets sick. Not here. I never feel I am being charged an arm and a leg and all of the vets are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I love Dr. Taormina and Janet at the front desk! My kitty recently came down with some tape worms and they got her sorted away without even a vet visit fee. I’m so grateful. This entire practice has made my little family so happy and healthy and I couldn’t be more grateful.
