Beautiful little fly shop with a great selection of gear, flies, fly tying materials and other equipment. Matt was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, happy to answer all my questions. The shop is very well kept and stocked, I wish I could have spent more time here while passing through to Pyramid Lake.

Reno Fly Shop is my first stop for anything fly fishing in the Reno NV area. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. I also like supporting the local sellers versus the big box stores.

In Reno mid Nov 2023, booked a 1/2 day walk the river bank with guide Aden . 4 hours of great fishing and catching, i highly recommend both the Fly shop and Aden the guide ,,,

This is a well equipped fishing store with a great selection of gear for all persuasions of fly fishing. Very knowledgeable staff, and fair prices. Highly recommend the guide and instructions services as well. Want local knowledge? This is the place.

Flew in from the East Tennessee for a trip to Lake Tahoe. On the way back to the airport in Reno Stopped in to look around and the young man was very informative on all the rods and supplies. Was extremely nice and not pushy by no means. Let me make the decision and ended up with a new rod and line and some knowledge of the Reno area for fishing. Will be back and they have a repeat customer for sure. Great job and keep up the good work. 5 star in my book.

Cool little shop. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. I have little to no experience fly fishing and they were able to give me alot of good advice and tips. I Would definitely recommend stopping in.

Cool little shop. The younger of the two guys assisted me and was friendly and knowledgable. I have over a decade of experience deep sea and spear-fishing, but little to no experience fly fishing. He was able to give me alot of good advice, tips and a rundown on what I might need. I Would definitely recommend stopping in if you need gear or are interested in fly fishing!

I wasn't going to leave a review but I have to let this out of my system. I booked my Pyramid Lake Guide a month before and planned to drive to Reno from Canada ( 17 hours drive). Everything was all good until the evening before the day of the of fishing. Jim called me saying Mike was sick and couldn't guide. Needless to say I didn't get to fish, wasted money on gas, 2 nights on hotels and they didn't even offer me a discount on rescheduled. Yes he return my initial payment I have to give him that but at least they could have called me earlier in the day so I could have search for another guide. Initially I wasn't going to use Reno Fly shop but Orvis back them up so I went with them. Anyway what a waste of my time , money and all I got was "sorry".

Mike Anderson is a phenomenal and knowledgeable guide who will focus on teaching you the importance of the basics such as casting and fishing proper depths, not only this but even avid fisherman can learn tips and tricks from him. I fished pyramid with him and he truly has the nature of the fish memorized as well as the contour underneath the water. On top of all this he's a real stand up guy who has a heart to teach and the patience to match.Later in the day we went into the shop to pick up some equipment, the owner and staff were extremely helpful and provided quality service. All around highly recommend this place to everyone.

The old guy working at the shop was extremely unhelpful and rude. I get that they’re not going to tell you exactly how to catch fish but the guy didn’t have to be so rude and could have given some basic advice. He was willing to help certain people in the shop but the group I was with got largely ignored. The younger guy working was very nice but I will likely never take my business there again. Small shop with little to offer in terms of flies or fly tying materials. I cannot recommend this fly shop and you should look elsewhere for helpful advice.
