We went in to buy treats for our dog. They were in the back and there was a sign buy 1 get one 50% off. We bought 2. Paid, then while I was walking out I noticed that the lady didn't give us the 50% off. I went back in to tell her and she got mad . I told her there was a sign and she said NOPE, NOPE and I said yes, She kept arguing with me and telling me NOPE there are right here (by the front)and not on sale. I told her I got them from the back. She said NOPE! I told her I'd show her and she said"ok but you will have to wait" there were customers waiting. So instead of calling someone to help me or telling the customers that came AFTER me to wait. She says I have to wait. It was her mistake not mine!

I haven't had any issues with any employees or the service here. I liked shopping here. But you are charging for bags now? This isn't California, how petty can you be. Guess it's time to start going to Persmart

I really hate leaving bad reviews and this is a tough one. I come here for feeder fish regularly (2 plus years) and this place is less than a quarter mile from my house. My main issue is I usually come in after my 16 hour blue collar shift to run a quick errand on my way home from work. The girl in charge of the fish department is really knowledgeable and takes great care of the fish there. (Petco is usually notoriously bad about this so I give her credit for actually caring) the only issue is it routinely takes me 20-25 minutes to get feeder fish from her. She's very talkative and even when there's 7-10 people waiting in line for help she'll talk each and every persons head off about their purchase even when they're clearly in a hurry (literally holds our bagged fish and continues conversing while we stare at the bag waiting for the chance to get the hell out of there and finish our other after work errands). I'm a regular and she still always asks what fish I have and the size of my tank. She means well and doesn't want people keeping fish in tanks that are too small but I literally get this same interrogation every time I come in and it's gotten really old. When they don't have the healthier Rosies in stock I settle for goldfish and she gives me a hard time about it every time like it's my fault they don't have what I want in stock. 1/2 of the time I come in I end up leaving to try again another day because the process is basically the Petco equivalent of the DMV. Like I said I appreciate that she really cares about the fish and takes great care of them but she has no sense of urgency when her department is full of customers waiting for help. Plenty of other people end up leaving out of frustration as well. Today was the breaking point for me, I waited 30 minutes for help and asked several other employees including her for help and was completely blown off along with several other customers. At this point I've decided I'm better off driving 15 minutes away to another pet store rather than wait so long for service again. I like to think of myself as a patient person but it's just gotten ridiculous. The rest of the store is great and the employees are friendly as well but since my main reason to visit this place is fish needs and I'm completely over it. If your planning on visiting for fish I highly recommend avoiding this place unless you have 30 minutes to spare to bs about fish and get interrogated about your tank setup (that is if you get any help at all)

I will never ever shop at Petco again. I take time out of my day to drive all the way over here to buy my dog food yet they close 10 minutes early earlier than they posted closing time because they're lazy f*cks and apparently do not want to stay in business. It's hilarious to me that they are allowed to post certain hours and I'm abide by them. Yet we wonder why our economy is shit!? The store hours are clearly posted on the front of the store saying open till 9 AM to 9 PM Monday through Friday. I'm here on Wednesday it's 852 they're closed what is happening to our country!?! if you say you are open until nine, then be open until nine your word is crap. Your store is Crap.

ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Went in to see the ferrets and asked this lady if we could hold them or even ask some questions and she rudely stated" NO" give me a minute and turns back around to empty supplies out of her cart! She was an older blonde lady.... Hopefully she's nice to the animals because she has ZERO CUSTOMER SERICE!

5 stars for the aquatics department alone, as of September and October of 2023. The lady with the bright blue eye shadow(wish I knew your name) does an incredible job with the fish, plants and customers. For a chain store the aquatics area is far beyond expectations. Some employees there truly care, and it really shows. I make the trip from Tahoe, passing many other stores, to specifically give this place my business on fish and live plants. However, the rest of the store gets 2 stars, lots of bare shelves. But the aquatics department is on point. Go here before any other stop for fish or plants.

I have taken my puppy there for shots and bought supplies After that I needed to use the restroom and I was told to go to Taco Bell I'm not sure if they can operate as business without a customer restroom Or is the fact that I am Latino

I had a curbside pick up but they gave me someone else’s order and didn’t realize until I got home. Similar order but the name wasn’t even close. It was just unfortunate that I had to drive back there and exchange the items for the correct order placed.

We buy fish and other aquarium pets from here, they have all the common stock. The employees are usually very helpful, but I wouldn't recommend putting the water from Petco tanks into your tank.

Worst place in town to shop for pet supplies. The items that were actually put on to the shelf or stocking location had the wrong prices wrong labels wrong sizes. The store had back stock all over the isles in the way... The isles had numerous messes and opened products.The staff was incredibly rude, not helpful, and took FOREVER to even address I was there standing in line with no one to scan my items so I could pay and leave. When I pointed out one of the items was mispriced the staff replied I didn't mark that price but you can put it back... I just put the colar down and left saying nah, you put it back... if I do it might end up in its rightful spot... i know that be too much for this store...

Petco at Northtowne Ln left a lot to be desired during my recent visit. Navigating through the store felt more like an obstacle course due to its disorganized and messy layout. Shelves were cluttered, products were haphazardly strewn about, and there seemed to be a general lack of cleanliness. This was concerning, especially given that the store caters to the well-being of pets. Price-wise, I found items to be considerably more expensive compared to other pet stores or online retailers. What further compounded the disappointing experience was the lackluster service. The staff seemed generally disinterested in assisting or answering questions, making the shopping experience feel more taxing than it needed to be. A store specializing in pet care should prioritize a clean and welcoming environment, both for the pets and their owners, but this particular outlet missed the mark on multiple fronts.

This is getting so much better than it use to be a few months ago. shelves are not well stocked and employees are very help and nice. Damien was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about their reptiles. He always has a smile on his face. I noticed today it was extremely busy in there, but Damien was able to help me very quickly. And so glad that the store is doing so well now. New management makes all the difference I guess.

This place has immensely gone down hill. The shelves are barely stocked. The absolute worst aquatics sales person I have ever ran into in my 20 years of having fish tanks. This woman will not sell you fish or product if it goes against what she thinks, and she thinks she knows everything. An absolutely ridiculous person to keep employed. Save yourself a trip and go elsewhere.

The store is in the perfect spot. Employees are willing to help each person with their needs until finished. It's always a bit busy, so expect to wait. Shelves are well maintained and stocked. Lots of regular customers and animals roaming around the store. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the lack of focus by employees to get to the next customer.

I buy all of my pet supplies there! They have a great selection for all of your pet needs along with great customer service!I started up a fish aquarium last year, jumping in to an entirely different world of pet care. Their staff member, Dawn (lady with the blue hair) helped me get the best set up for my tank, was able to answer any questions I had, and her knowledge of fish species helped me create the perfect aquarium for our new home! We started with one tank, and thanks to her guidance, as we now have 4 tanks and have family members joing on the fish band wagon!
