My brother and I spent almost two hours here. We were both very impressed with the collection of antique automobiles and motorcycles. We spent time looking at almost every vehicle so I'm sure you could do it a lot quicker than we did and still enjoy it. There's an area for children with some games and activities too. They all seemed to be having fun.

This museum is great. They have cars from the late 1800's through recently. It's quite impressive. You'll see early versions of Buick, Ford, Pontiac, Dodge, Rolls Royce, Cadillac, and a fleet of other brands you've probably never heard of.
I like the Art Deco period of cars (50's and 60's) but the second generation of cars from 1910-1920 were my favorites. You can quite literally watch the evolution of the automobile by going in through the museum since the cars are in chronological order.
I should have taken more photos. Sorry. The ones below are from an electric car from 1914 (100 years before Elon Musk's cars showed up) and a copper Rolls Royce from the 1920's (or 30's).
The admission price is $15 but only $10 if you're a veteran or first-responder. Definitely go.

Loved this place! I went on 10/16/2024 and was greeted by friendly staff that was very knowledgeable and made it very welcoming. This place had some BEAUTIFUL cars and plenty of them. Take you time and walk through history of classic cars. They actually have seating throughout the museum if you need to take a quick break because the space is huge and it’s lots to see. This is a definite YES when in Reno and you will not be disappointed.

Must visit whether you are a car buff or a historical buff. Very extensive and interesting display with your detailed information and well catalogued display. Aside from the actual car display the historical stories and background of each car is so entertaining and captivating. I personally enjoyed the human endeavors and human ingenuity in producing each of the cars.

Great Museum Visit
We traveled to Reno to visit family and needed a few hours to kill. Found the National Automobile Museum by chance and glad we did. No wait getting in and the gentleman at the front-desk was very polite and helpful in explaining the ticket prices and what we were going to see. Numerous displays of vehicles in era decorated backgrounds that you view at your own pace. Handicap access, clean bathrooms and light snacks available. My wife was somewhat apprehensive about a Museum filled with cars but had a great time, especially seeing the Lightning McQueen replica, which is a grandson's favorite.

The National Automobile Museum in Reno truly appealed to me. It features an impressive collection that traces the development of automobiles. The diversity and historical significance of the cars showcased here is captivating. Car aficionados should definitely consider this a must-visit place. Moreover, it's a child-friendly museum.

My son in law loves cars, so we decided to visit this car museum while we were vacation at Tahoe. It was well worth the visit.
Over 200+ cars in fun settings. It was great to see how much cars have changed over the decades.
It’s well worth the visit, even if you’re not a car enthusiast. It can be a fun history lesson.

This is an absolutely amazing car museum.
Huge collection ranging from self propelled steam engine powered wheelbarrows, early 20th century gas and electric pioneers to the iconic vehicles from the movies. Great display of 50’s, 60’s and 70’s automobiles. Very well preserved and maintained collection.
Spent over 5 hours enjoying the exhibits.

I’ve been to a number of car museums (and cars don’t really interest me, so I have to admit I wasn’t hugely excited for this). I was so wrong! The ways that the cars were displayed and the signage describing why each car was unique was incredible. I learned so much. This is a great stop for anyone traveling through Reno!

I visited this museum first time about 20 years ago. We had friends visiting Reno now, so I brought them in this fully renovated museum. I guess it was a lot of effort to make this place looks like main street of 1950s.. Incredible collection of cars from 1890+ to 1960s. Plenty of details on each car.
We were absolutely lucky to meet one of the museum's staff John Sell, who volunteered to be our guide to point us to jewels of their selection with plenty of technical and history of those specific cars. Highly recommend getting a tour by calling them.
Thank you, John so much!
