This was our regular vet. They saw both our cat and dog regularly. When my cat suddenly had respiratory failure I called for an urgent appointment and was told they "didn't have time for him." Fortunately South Reno Animal Hospital was my cat immediately and saved his life. Never ever take your pets to mount rose. They don't care if your animals live or die.

We've been going to Mt. Rose Animal hospital for about a year now. We have two dogs (doodle and chihuahua) that get regular care and we are impressed with the service received. The staff and doctors are knowledgeable, attentive and caring. What makes this a 5+ star review was a recent experience with our doodle. For unknown reasons she became violently ill and would not eat or keep anything down. We honestly thought we were losing her, and at such a young age. The clinic was fully booked but when I explained what was going on they accepted her in with the understanding they would work her in between appointments. Two days later I am happy to say our doodle has fully recovered! The team at Mt. Rose was fantastic to work with, and Dr. Leautier was superb beyond expectations. She kept us regularly updated with thoughtful insight in our dog's conditions and how to manage recovery. We could not imagine going to another clinic after this experience. The health of family pets is an emotional one and I understand it doesn't always have a storybook ending. The team at Mt. Rose aren't magicians, but their knowledge, caring, skills, and capabilities to care for our family members definitely earn a 5-star rating.

We're new to town and found this gem. I like how ether separate the dogs and cat areas. The vet was helpful and didn't up charge for a longer visit. They also treat ferrets!

Dr. Veech is AMAZING!!!! I've been bringing my dogs here for 5 years and they have always been great, but the edition of Dr. Veech has brought them to an entirely new level! They are so accommodating and never try to make an extra dime. My dogs are my lives and I couldn't be happier with the care they receive here. I highly suggest anyone looking for the best veterinary care in Reno take there pets here!!

I took my ferret here after he suffered a head injury. Dr. Carroll took x-rays, said there COULD be free gas in his intestinal area but no one could guarantee it, and gave me antibiotics for a fever. She told me it may be a coincidence that my ferret hit his head and was now sick. A week later my ferret wasn't improving and having seizures. I took him to another vet who said the seizures were from swelling in his brain from the head injury and needed anti-inflammatory steroids. The steroids have helped but he might never make a full recovery because he didn't get the steroids or diagnosis he needed from Dr. Carroll when I initially took him in. If he would have been treated for his head injury and possible brain swelling in the first place he might have actually made a full recovery, but instead, Dr. Carroll directed me towards a possible stomach problem that didn't even exist, and neglected to treat him for what I took him in for, a head injury!

We recently moved to Reno and decided to pull the plug and finally get a corgi . We were referred by a family member and are so happy with this decision. We went in for the initial exam today with our pup, and Dr. Lori Burnham was so knowledgeable and thorough with us as new pup parents. She answered all of our questions and gave us recommendations for everything we needed. We also enjoyed the other staff members from checking in, to getting vitals and other things checked by the assistant, we really enjoy this team. And to our surprise, we got a free nail clip for the pup.

We have used Drs. Weldon and Burnham at Mt Rose since we moved to Reno. We feel very fortunate to have found these exceptional, caring, brilliant veterinarians. The service is amazing. When labs are ordered the vets telephone us as soon as results are available...even if this falls on a day they are out of the office. Dr. Weldon has done 3 different surgeries on two of our dogs. She is a gifted surgeon. We have never had better care for animals in any city. They treat each animal as if it was their own. These folks along with the friendly office staff and technicians are phenomenal.

We found this place because it was the closest to home when we first moved here. It was a serendipitous find for sure. The front office staff is warm and are vested in your pets' well being. They call to follow up and to remind you of your appointments. Dr. Burnham is such a wonderful caring lady who happens to be an incredible vet. She takes care of all our furbabies, cats and dogs. Her thoroughness is commendable; she never rushes you out and makes sure you've had all your questions answered. She has a very calming and quiet way about her and keeps you apprised if everything going on. She did a multi tooth extraction and icky growth removals on our senior dog and took the time during the procedure to let me know how she was and what was happening. I've sent several friends to her and they love her just as much as I. She'll get down on the floor to commune with our corgi, who adores her. She's so very gentle with the senior girl and keeps her out of pain as much as possible. Erin in the front is a wonderful lady who will come and say hi to your pets when you check in. She's so very sweet and is a wonderful smile to greet you upon arrival. We've had nothing but great experiences here - could not recommend more highly.

We first went to Mt Rose Animal Hospital about five yrs ago. Our golden retriever had been having chronic ear infections, and her previous vet consistently prescribed the same treatment with no relief. I was impressed that Dr Weldon had a different solution to Angie's problem. Although she still got ear infections, they were less frequent. However, after that initial visit, my opinion changed. I frequently had problems getting appts, we met with a different vet on every visit, and staff did not return calls in a timely manner. We recently adopted a black lab puppy (now age 11 weeks). I made an appt at Mt Rose Animal Hospital again. I really wanted this office to work because it is half a mile from my house. It is so convenient. When I brought my puppy in today, Erin said he didn't have an appt. This was off-putting to me as I had left work early to get to the appointment. Further, it is not easy to take a dog to the dr. I found myself getting more and more frustrated as she tried to reschedule the appt. I said I may as well get his next round of puppy shots when I bring him back. I asked when the boosters should be given. Erin said every 3-4 weeks (which would be tomorrow). She tried to schedule an appt for the next week. I told her I would make a more timely and reliable appointment elsewhere.Further, after speaking to my daughter about my frustration, she said that she took her dog to this office. Her dog was prescribed an antibiotic without any lab work. After ten days, her dog was still sick. They went to a different vet office to seek treatment.I would strongly discourage anyone from seeking services from this vet office. Staff and drs alike give conflicting information. Illnesses are treated without clear diagnoses. Customer service at this office is highly lacking.Fool me once, shame in you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Highly recommend Mount Rose Animal Hospital and their awesome staff! We were traveling from out of state and had a somewhat serious issue come up with one of our dogs. The staff at Mount Rose was able to get us in to be seen the same day! Dr. Lane took his time examining our dog and speaking with us. We are so pleased with the entire experience and couldn't recommend Mount Rose and their staff highly enough. My husband and I were commenting that we wish our regular vet experiences could be this positive! A huge thank you to the entire staff at Mount Rose.

This review has been long overdue, but my bf and I got a puppy last year for Xmas. We wanted to make sure our pup, Atlas, has the best care and this hospital was rated high on google so I just made an appointment to get him seen for vaccines, etc. The front staff was very friendly and welcoming. The techs did their best to make him feel comfortable and were very gentle with our pup. Dr. Carol administered the vaccines and told us everything he was going to need within 6 months. She was very knowledgeable, kind and really took her time with us. What really made me love this clinic was that a couple months later, Atlas was hacking for almost a week and then one day he puked so I called the clinic to see if they can see him immediately. They squeezed me in and the doctor took her time. I wasn't rushed, I was seen quickly and I was prescribed medicine for him that helped him. This clinic, in my opinion, is very reasonably priced! Atlas was cryptorchid, and I was quoted a possible $600 for him depending on how the surgery went. We paid more than less than that and that was our most expensive vet bill. Mind you, this may not happen for you since his surgery went extremely well for us. Vaccines and check-ups have never been outrageously priced and we have received amazing service from Dr. Carol and the staff. Highly recommend!!!
