Avoid this place for trailer repair. Not sure if they outright scammed me or are just incompetent. I'd bet on the latter.

Prompt Service. Interesting location on a hill to sell trailers, but once you leave all is great. People here get it done.

Buying a trailer? Head here. Great staff. They have all the right trailer parts for repairs. Very knowledgeable. I don't bother going anywhere else. I have 12 trailers, 10 are from them.

We have a Featherlite trailer. We needed a spare tire lock. They had it. We needed a tail light lens cover which was broken while loading up our El Camino purchase. They had it. If you have a Featherlite trailer, this is the place to go. We even bought a new registration holder that fits on the trailer.

I really, REALLY did not want to write this review. In fact, I had drafted a stellar review for Featherlight of Reno, but my last phone call with them forced my hand in changing opinion of them. I was in the final stages of a move, and due to the horrid service from the actual Reno Big Tex dealer, was left scrambling to buy a utility trailer. On a family members recommendation, we purchase the trailer through Featherlight. The paperwork portion with Chris went phenomenal. This is as far as the smoothness goes, and where the red flags start coming up. Upon pickup of the trailer the day prior to the move, I arrived after giving them notice of my arrival to wait about an hour and 1/2 as they attend another customer. No biggie. My turn comes up, and the trailer is bright up from a hill and coupled to my truck. Immediately my friend and I notice the tongue Jack has grease seeping, and the wheels with a outward facing camber. As this is our first experience with Big Tex trailers, we ask them if these items are normal, to witch we are told "yes" by the featherlight employee. Accepting responsibility for my shortcomings, I should have been more resistant to that and had a better eye for inspecting the trailer, but being under a time crunch and standing outside in blowing cold winds made me just want to take the trailer and leave. Fast forward a couple of days now on the road with trainer loaded under its capacity, we notice the tires camber worsen, and the tongue jack loose grease and become stiff. I reach back out to Chris at featherlight who advised to push to our destination, If possible and take the trailer to a Big Tex here. I mentioned about now being worried the camber being a result of a bent axle all along, to witch the reply was "You have both a fantastic warranty and us to stand behind what we sold you, this is why you bought a big Tex, and bought it from us" Assured, we pressed on with caution to our destination. After offloading, we immediately limp the trailer to a big Tex dealer. After a few weeks of the dealer working out the time to take a look at my trailer, they came to the concluding that the trailer needed a new jack, hub bearings serviced, and worse off, a replacement axle due to the original axle being bent. All was covered under warranty minus the axle. Just as I feared. All on a "brand new" trailer.I reached out to Featherlight as they assured me they would stand behind their product should I be in this precise scenario. Talking to the manager per the employees request, tried explaining the situation and the hefty repair bill for a replacement axle, the manager immediately went into defensive, "screw you" mode. In a hostile voice saying "That trailer was new and it was up to Big Tex/ Dexter axles to decide to warranty or charge me" With a what seemed to be a sarcastic "Good Luck" hung up. Bro, you didn't even ask for my name, or let me finish explaining. So much for standing behind our product. So here I am, having to pay out of pocket a hefty repair bill for work on a "brand new" trailer, writing this review instead of the stellar one I WANTED to write, shadowing the also negative review of another customer. I can only share my experience with Featherlight of Reno, and advise customers to inspect their purchases with a fine tooth comb and firm up if anything is amiss as they will indeed, NOT stand behind their product.

I have called every dealer within 200 miles to check on a trailer I was looking for. No one answered the phones, no one called me back or answered my emails except Featherlite Of Reno! This is the 3rd trailer I have purchased and this was the best experience so far by a long shot. They always answer the phones, always answer emails quickly, they don't charge any mark ups and don't raise the price when you go to pick up your trailer like 2 other dealers I have dealt with. Thank you for staying honest and being there with the best customer service and not taking advantage on people :)
