It is such a blessing to have an animal ophthalmologist in Reno! We have been taking our German shepherd here for several years now, and we would like to thank Dr. Steele and her staff for taking such excellent care of our girl, Lily!!

Complete waste of $277.50 for a 5 minute consult to tell me they want to charge almost $5000.00 to correct my puppies cherry eye. They said there is a 90% success rate and if it does come back they will re do at a highly discounted rate. Laughable. Sure, I love my dog and want to correct her eye issue but they are completely unreasonable and take full advantage of customers. A regular vet will charge less than $500.00 to surgically tack it in place as they would do. I could’ve invested the $277.50 to another vet that can help my little girl. Total rip off! I was expecting them to be a little more expensive being a “Specialist” but they are out of control with their prices. They come off as money driven. Don’t recommend!

I couldn't speak highly enough of this place and Dr. Steele! My dog has glaucoma and initially needed surgery to remove an eye. They got him in the very next day and ended up not needing surgery, and we are managing wonderfully with meds so far. Had I gone somewhere else, I am sure he'd have the eye removed unnecessarily. I am so thankful for her thorough diagnostics and checking yet again before surgery. I am beyond thrilled with my experience and am so thankful of the result, all because of Dr. Steele and her teams thoroughness. They are wonderful!!

The vets get 5 stars, the front desk staff get 1 star. We’ve been going here for our pug for years, it’s the only option in Reno. The vets are nice enough, but every time we go in to pick up a prescription or check in, the front desk ladies are extremely rude. We gave it a pass the first few times, but it happens nearly every time. My wife gets there at 4:30 to pickup meds because we work and can’t get there any earlier, which we shouldn’t have to since they close at 5pm. The front desk ladies always give grief about “Oo you’re lucky you got in, I was about to pick the doors, good for you”. And are consistently rude on the phone when ordering prescriptions also. They only work TU-Fri as it is, they clearly hate their jobs.

Our Tucker had serious growths on his eyelids which is common with Labrador Retrievers. It began severely irritating his eyes and we will not have that!!!! I cannot say enough about our experience with Eye Care For Animals in Reno, Nv. Our treatment was scheduled in a very timely manner. It took about 35-40 minutes and his treatment was complete. He has made a perfect recovery and that means us, as a family, are extremely pleased. KUDDOS!!!!

My dog received excellent care and everything was explained verbally and in writing. The vet and vet tech were also patient and understanding with my dog and made the visit as easy as could be.

It was a long wait but it was worth it to get our dog's long-standing eye issue finally resolved. Next time we will skip the after-hours emergency vet and the regular vet and go straight to the eye specialist if another eye issue arrives.

Run from this place. My cat has a weeping and puffy eye. Im new the area and had previously seen a couple of other vets including an ophthalmologist and received different diagnosis and treatments. While some of the previous treatments improved the condition, none cured the problem. None of the previous diagnosis included a suggestion for surgery and all surrounded around feline herpes or chlamydia. I was asked to bring all previous medications to my first appointment, which I did. None of the staff or vet asked to look at the previous prescriptions despite prescribing two medications. Throughout the appointment the vet tried to get my cat to open her eyes which didnt work. I asked if they had any cat toys as my cat would open her eyes immediately. No cat toys even know its an animal eye clinic. The staff put the most egregious cone in existence around my cats neck. My cat could barely breath and couldnt eat. I was given a $600 bill and within less than ten minutes with my cat I was told that my cat needs a $4,000 eye surgery. My cat was traumatized by this place and didnt come out from under the bed for a week! When I questioned the diagnosis and path forward I was told I should seek consultation and treatment at UC Davis. This company doesnt care about your animals, just your money.
